Give it up, Tiffany. I have no use for Ann Eiffel, either, but she IS teaching you a lesson that you should have learned a long time ago. So this is one battle with her that you’ll never win — nor SHOULD you!

Two days left. Is it possible for G&K to save this arc?

Let me rephrase: Is it probable for G&K to save this arc?

I get it. Tiffany needs a lesson on money (right, Joe P?) – but this is getting pathetic. And I’m really, really scared this arc will go into overtime (that is, return on Monday).

And right there Ox is showing his respect for the customer, no matter what their circumstances. And he’s showing his respect for his employers, by not offering to “comp” his friend or give her some special deal. I like him, and I’m glad he’s finally making an appearance again.

While Ann Awful has most likely, almost assuredly have an ulterior and evil motive and not doing this for Tiffany’s benefit…I think this will be another step in Tiffany becoming a better, less self-centered person.

Learning the true value of things and not just taking everything for granted.

OK. The triple snickerdoodle blast is $8.29. For her $2.22, I bet Ox would be willing to make her 1/4 of one. And throw in a napkin.

    @Mordy re support system

Of those you mentioned Oxford (at this point) looks like her best bet. Tiff hasn’t exhibited any tendency to accept positive support from Dez. Bernice’s attempt was selfishly motivated and failed. Lu and Tiff just can’t seem to pull it together consistently. Right now those that she has expressed openness with (Gunther and to some extent Les) have dished her a poisoned pill. Some healing there is needed right now. Al might give her good advice, but he’s not a nurturing type father figure. Irma would be ideal – but she’s just not in the right story position now. A nurturing mother image is what she needs right now.

The Luann soap opera, The Days of our Deception, carries on. As Anthony Newley wrote, and sang with that great Cockney accent, “…why can’t I throw away this mask of play and live my life?” Tiffany should be a high class hooker or escort. Gunther cannot handle any adult responsibility and needs a mature, gay guy (not Les) to tell him what to do. Bernice needs to thaw out and make out with some hot nerd. Luann just wants “cute”, so she needs to rediscover Quill, get married, have her own little Luann, and start the whole thing all over again.

Not an “hilarity ensues” sort of day again it seems in the Luanniverse. When the bright spot for me is the humorous name of the Starbuck-esque drink (Triple Snickerdoodle Blast…. kind of reminds me of the fun names that Bill Watterson used for the various sugary cereals that Calvin would eat) then the humor pickings ARE indeed slim.

So, with humor not the primary focus for today…. what is the message? Some thoughts:

    1. Is Greg really guiding Tiffany towards a revelation in terms of her future? Or, is Greg having a very long, elaborate build-up to some hair-brained scheme? (Addendum… if it is moving towards the “hair-brained scheme” aspect…. perhaps TJ will suddenly pop up in his K2 work uniform too? He is, after all, the master of crazy schemes. :) )

    2. With Ox showing up after a considerable absence…. is is presence merely a minor, short blip in terms of the presented Luanniverse, or will he be featured more frequently now?

    3. If Ox does become seen more frequently…. are the odds low or high that Ox may become the guy who does win Tiffany’s affections?

And still the purgatory for Tiff continues. Does Greg have some sort of love-hate relationship with Tiff to torture her so? Does he feel that her “sins” of the past have been so egregious to torture her for so long. Especially if the only point is to bring about some “life change?” I don’t think his most long-suffering character, Brad, “suffered” so long and as deeply with his pining for and pursuit of Toni Daytona! In fact, I can think of no other of his characters to have been punished so. (No! Frank and Nancy do not count!) Maybe somebody can help me out here? Perhaps @Mordy and @others can make a case for Gunther. But at least Gunther had a long-term support systems; Irma, Luann and Rosa for a while

Luann’s break up with Quinn didn’t take this long. Her little life lessons are pretty quick. Clumsy, “dumb jocks” are dangerous to date. Don’t jump seats at the Monster Truck Show. Don’t go to wild parties without a trusted escort. Jack went from aimless mediocre jock to career oriented winner in one dog park episode – even his looks improved and he’s not so clumsy anymore. Bernice still pines for Zack and Piro but apparently not as deeply, plus we don’t get our noses rubbed in it. Les got over Pru in less than four panels and he’s settled with his witch mother in a couple of weeks (although he’ll carry her around in his head for life). TJ seems to have a deck full of get out of jail free cards. Tara (the thief) gets a slap on the wrist and then be buds with the main character, Luann. Even Shannon gets instant parents.

So G&K, enough! Move Tiffany where you are going with her and stop the unreasonable harassment. Maybe it’s time for another Biology lesson from Gunther. (Please!)

While Tiffany does need to learn about saving money, being at Ann’s (dare I say) mercy is not good for her at all. And her father is a complete idiot for turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to how Ann is “handling the situation”. His ignoring Tiffany for Ann is how she gained weight in the first place. If this continues, Tiffany will become anorexic.

Tiffany needs to break her silence. She is not under any obligation to keep quiet about Ann’s Soufflé Lingerie parties. Ann had scammed the DeGroots as well; pretending to be so concerned about reconnecting with Les just to get lower rates on rent space. Ann has been getting way with far too much for far too long. It’s time for everything to come out.
