“Yes, Mom.” What a good boy.

I am waiting for this kitten to start tearing up the place. Elvis may lose his cool a bit.

Orbsters, as most of you know, the strip is based in Rhode Island, and today is a day of mourning and reflection for many in Rhode Island.

Today, February 20, is the anniversary of the 2003 Station Nightclub Fire, in which 100 lives were lost and 230 others were injured. Please take a moment to remember them today.

I just posted this question on another strip but I’ll ask it of all you cat people. I’ve had a neutered male cat for about 4 or 5 years now. He seems to crave my attention all the time. Would this problem be solved by getting another cat or would it be a mistake. It seems better to get another adult male as opposed to a kitten. I use to have two cats but I got the brother and sister (and mom) as the only two survivors of a litter. Thanks.

Update on my nasty cold bug: ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((all)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I can confirm that all your get well wishes, lifts, purrs, orb bumps and boops did the trick because I’m feeling MUCH much better today; however my turning point came about in an extremely gross way. Grossness Alert DO NOT read on if you don’t want to be grossed out!! Last night I started having extreme stomach cramps and my cold symptoms seemed even worse, and I had severe chills and waves of nausea . . well, by midnight I wound up throwing up everywhere . . on the guest bed (thank God I was sleeping there and not next to poor hubby!) and all over the bathroom floor and toilet . . it was the grossest mess and the WORST clean up ever, but it cured me! I started feeling much much better! My congestion is only minimal now, no more watery eyes, sneezing, and my migraine has gone. Yes I have to go sterlise the bathroom, have a load of washing to do in a bit and it wasn’t a pleasant experience but I’m feeling loads better! ♥♥♥ Thank you everyone who sent me get well wishes, thoughts, prayers, orb bumps, boops, prayers, lifts—it sure worked! ♥

Kittens get into everything. They especially like to bounce around the older cats as if to say, you can’t catch me! How will the world’s crabbiest cat handle that?

Happy Humpday, orbsters and orbabies! I love Elvis’ air of mild astonishment at his nomination in the last panel. My own contender is meatloafed behind me, beating me about the head with her tailbone. I asked her why she is doing this to me and she beat me harder.

I think Georgia is a big fan of Beatrix Potter’s art -her style of watercolor and the kittens clothes resemble it. Ms Potter was a very fine artist and observer of nature.

Great news from sis – Onyx has been PLAYING! thanks to the low-carb diet & the glucosamine-chondroitin, she’s gone from acting like a sad stiff sick old cat to remembering it’s fun to be a cat. She’s happily killing toy mice, & the other day she grabbed the feather-on-a-fishing-pole toy out of sis’s hand & ran off with it. YAY!!! (Yes, there are videos, but they’re not very good quality so I didn’t post them on Instagram.)

A big “Thank You” to @Aslan Balaur who has apparently been catching up on old strips and replying to and liking old comments. When I used the notifications links to go back and try to figure out why I was getting likes for such old comments, I reread some of those old threads and remembered how much fun we’ve had over the years. I’m not going to let two days of bitter override all the years of sweet. Thank you to all of you who helped me find my way out of the dark hole.

Alas, it is time to see the real cat world, with conflict and great weapons of war.

I didn’t build it, but I WANT ONE!!!

Not long ago, I ordered a 20-gallon tote that I can use to make a shelter for the feral kitties in my neighborhood. I managed to find one for under $13.

Well, it arrived today. I found it in a box on my porch just now. The box was a lot heavier than I expected. It was so heavy that it was hard for me to bring it inside. Then I opened it up.

Inside the box was, not one, but 7 or 8 of the totes. Did the seller make a mistake?

WHEW!! What a marathon! I just discovered Breaking Cat News last week, on the original website. Today I FINALLY caught up to the current days post. YAY!I have read bits and pieces of comments along the way. Couldn’t get them all, but I have learned a thing or three about some of you. In fairness, let me introduce myself. Aslan Balaur. More description than name, as Aslan is Turkish for “Lion” and Balaur is Romanian for “Dragon.” I am a Leo born in the year of the Dragon. And while I know 99.9% of astrology is bunk, the description does at least do me justice. I am originally from the green hills of Vermont, though my favorite memories there were when the hills were every color, not just green. I love autumn, covered bridges, hills, lakes and rivers. I am no fan of cities. I’ve also lived in Colorado, New Hampshire, Idaho, and 11 years in Arizona. (not in that order) I now make my home off Willapa Bay in southwestern Washington state. No blistering Arizona summers. No sub-arctic Vermont winters. Hooray. I am into fishing, photography, woodworking, cooking, gardening, and about 509 other hobbies, because I just can’t seem to get by on just one. I also knit, and am working on learning how to use my spinning wheel and loom. And I make wine.I’d almost say it’s good I don’t work (disabled) because now I have time for all my hobbies. (LOL) However, I’d really rather be fit and “have to” work. Oh yeah, and I am a BIG lover of cats. I’ve pretty much always had them in my life. Right now, two all-black Goddesses. The long haired Belle, who appears to be mostly Norwegian Forest Cat, and the sleek and shiny Jade, with a voice that can cut steel. Both are rescues. One of my favorite memories was playing with my sisters, “cat”, Chucky. He was a full-grown male catamount, as other regions call them, Puma, mountain lion, cougar….Call this my application to be part of the Orbosphere, MegaOrb, or any other name for this cat-munity.Nose-Sniffs all around! BOOP!!!!
