YAY! Looks as if they’ve finally found a position for Beatrix on the BCN team. Hurry up, Elvis. Don’t let Tabitha blindside you on this the way she did during Heck on the Deck!
I seem to remember a comment on the original site [part of me is tempted to abbreviate this to TOS, but then that’s “The Original Series” of Star Trek…] in which Georgia confirmed that Elvis is signing “someday”. I will check on this in the morning; the library has an ASL dictionary.
Poor Elvis. Tabitha can’t help herself; she just loves to twist his tail. I use to think those two were Tracy & Hepburn, but now I see them more as Peter O’Toole & Katharine Hepburn from A Lion In Winter.
In honor of Easter, may I present Conan in his Easter Bonnet (aka “the Return of Silly Hat Day”)? Before anyone asks, he seems to enjoy dressing up; if he objected, it wouldn’t happen.
Oh, just a note about what we lost in the transition to the smaller size: Tabitha’s spots! In the original, you can see Tabitha’s tabby spots along her belly. It’s adorable (as Grace reminds me every time she tempts me with the fuzzy tummy). Georgia is amazing, but the restrictions of the small format do sometimes have their cost.
Well, well, well. Router is most certainly a boy. So, when we can get him into the carrier, it’s off to the pound to see if he is chipped, then as soon as Tom Cat Tuesday rolls around, he can have the upgrade. Well, unless he’s chipped and has an owner that wants him back. He not only lets me and Jora pet him, he even let me do a bit of brushing, even a bit on his tail. He flinches when he sees a hand coming near him but as soon as we start petting he relaxes.
OK, I know there was a spoiler space here earlier because I commented on it. It was the first comment of the day. If I remember right, Bill Jackson created it. Do we have a new board monitor who does not understand the systems we have mutually put in place here to allow us to talk about the original stories without spoiling it for the newbies?
Think about it Boys someone else who can order all the coffee and Lupin’s special brew without forgetting or blaming someone else if it is ever forgotten. Not that it would be forgotten.
Was out all day Easter, so I’ll comment on yesterday’s strip: WONDERFUL!
Lots of memories of slippery, shiny black, little Mary-Jane shoes, frilly dresses, lace EVERYWHERE, even socks & bonnet, & those tiny white gloves that by evening ended up lost, forever. And we hunted REAL, dyed eggs! We had to remove the little gloves, as morning dew reactivated the dyes and would have colored them, too!
Nibbling chocolate bunnies, starting with the ears, giving all my jelly beans & marshmallow eggs (yuck!) to Dad & Sis, candy vignettes inside elaborate sugar eggs, kitties playing with the candy wrappers and paper “grass”, Buffy, Aunt Linda’s Pomeranian, eating ham,Grandma turning our real eggs into egg salad, the kid’s table, with poor Sis (the eldest) refereeing us brats, real flowers from Grandpa’s garden (whatever was blooming), and so many more happy recollections!
I’m sure most won’t see this as I am posting it late in the day. I would like to announce that today is my much loved Father-in-law’s 85’th birthday. <3
Beatrix gets her big break. I’ve since realized that she’s a character that pops up quite often in stories. I’ve started calling them “Beatrix the kitten intern.” She is the Platonic ideal.

She will be a great reporter just like Tommy.

Reporting for BCN is much more suited to Beatrix than the Tabitha art beat. Lots of action, including sports!

Poor Elvis! He’s so conflicted! He wants to hire Beatrix, but he doesn’t want to even appear to be doing what Tabitha says to do!

Elvis, the exclamation mark in the second panel shows that you’ve already decided. Ignore Tabitha and go ahead.

I like Tabitha’s workout gear and her appropriately-branded water bottle. No advertising the competition (AKA Elvis) for her!

Tabitha knows how to motivate her underfloor boys, doesn’t she?

C’mon, Elvis, get the lead out and tell Beatrix she’s hired on as your full-time intern!
I hope everyone had a good Easter, with friends and family.

Some interns are far more motivated—and busy—than other interns.

Tabitha’s always got an eye out for promising new talent, that’s for sure! I don’t think it had even occurred to Elvis until Lupin spoke up.

For a second there I thought Tabitha was channeling her inner Cybill from the Lio strip because I initially thought her bottle said “Gin”
