There they are! I was waiting for those shirts to show up! Of course, I’m sure Elvis believes himself to be the best parent, thank you very much.

Love Burt happily setting things up for Beatrix!

Wow! Not only has Beatrix become gainfully employed as a book store cat, she’s been promoted from intern to correspondent with BCN. Glad to see Burt already has the bookstore networked in.

Congratulations, Beatrix! In true cat style, you have landed on those wonderful feet of yours, and are off and away!

P.S. I like Burt’s jacket! It looks very nice on him.

For a second, it looked like Burt was plugging Bea’s tail in! And that must be a copy of ‘Lupin Leaps In’ with Georgia’s name on the spine.

I wonder if the Bookstore Owner knows an older Male Cat is hanging around and messing with the wires?

I think in some small way we are all proud parents of a bookstore cat today. So lovely to watch Bea head out into the World with confidence, looking forward to her fact checking and to seeing so much more of her story arc than we got to see in the initial run. X

Love Georgia’s signature today. I wonder what book that is? “Lupin Leaps In” or “Breaking Cat News”? I’m sure this fine bookstore would have both in stock.

The budget at BC News must be remarkable. A brand new Book Store Bureau and the hardware to boot.

I have named my new addition Ally. 2 reasons. I was watching A Star is Born (again) and I’m a huge Lady GaGa fan, and she was found in an alley. Now she’ll either be a queen or a “little monster” (nic name that Gaga calls her fans) P.S. Ally is a tortie, and they have tortie-tude

I’m relatively new to the strip. Who is Burt? I’ve never seen him before. Also, it looks like maybe Beatrix and the bookstore are going to become a regular part of the strip. I hope so, because I’d like to see Beatrix as a regular character.

All you worrywarts who were afraid of a sad ending: We told you so! While BCN occasionally has problems with the screen going blurry, it’s not permanent.

Thanks for the boops everyone. Waiting for the vet to call back with the news for Miscreant. He has renal failure and the lab work that I get the results for today will tell if he has a day or months left. He’s drinking a lot and I haven’t seen him eat in 3 days no matter what I try to get him to eat. I’m giving him all the affection he will allow. I think the anti-nausea medication helped him feel better but he still won’t eat. He lost a quarter of his body weight in the last month and so he’s down to 6 lbs. I’ll check back in tomorrow when I know more.

“Bookstore cat” is a fine and noble profession. Rodents have caused more damage to books than censorship. Even the oldest bookstore cat can protect books by daily shedding in prominent places.
