Okay, Bets, how are the boys s’posed to do it right?

If giving Tiff money is wrong, they don’t want to be right.

Finally, someone with some SENSE has entered the fight! Well I for one, can’t wait to hear what Bets’ “plan” is.

And when it succeeds (And I’ll wager it WILL) I hope that Bets will get the proper credit. :)

Why does Tiffany need a private dorm room? Half the fun of college is a roommate. You either make a friend for life or you have great “horror” stories to tell.

Well, at least the boys are trying to do the right thing – but leave it to Bets to show them a better way to help Tiff…

About 20 moths just escaped Les’ wallet.

Oh, before I forget – the idea here should not be to help fund her private dorm room, but to also help Tiff find accommodations that are more within her budget.

Why does she even need a private dorm room?!? Reminds me of those wealthy televangelists hitting up poor people for money. The donations can wait until after Tiffany figures out that she needs to stop living above her means. Otherwise it’s just a waste.For a guy who’s supposedly smart, Gunther sure is an idiot sometimes.

The right way would be if Bets is left to right the wrongs the right way instead of the wrong way which is left…

Les’ behavior is totally inconsistent with the past. A definite renovation of his character is underway.

With Tiff supporting herself now, she needs to trade in that private dorm room. Most people forget that living beyond your means requires more money. Unfortunately my older sister still hasn’t learned that lesson.

And the grown up makes an appearance in panel 2. Let’s see what she comes up with, shall we?

Boy one thing is brilliantly clear here, Gunther do you deserve Bets? Besides being drop dead gorgeous, she is smart, grounded, is helpful, has common sense, and has a very fine moral sense, I love “you’re doing right wrong.” So pithy and so true. Wanna see next, which is why this durn strip is so addicting.

Is Bets’ role in this comic going to be “The only one with any sense”?

Charging a friend 50 percent of their profit, when that friend is facing leaving college, is doing it wrong. Yes, they both did it wrong. They profited from a friend who was desperate. We used to call that using someone.

It looks like Bets have some good ideas. Or, at least, I really hope she has … It’s nice to see the two cousins ​​have a stupid arguement like two children, it’s like they’re trying to have the childhood together they never had.

Tiff needs a roommate or two. A private room is expensive. A dorm with 1 or 2 roommates is short on space but much more affordable.

I didn’t tune in to this comic to listen to congress..

Lots of character development and change from a year ago for Les and Gunther, if this keeps up Mordy will be cheering for Les and see Gunther as a villain in another year. I’m also cautious on Bets, she’s been some of the catalyst for Gunther’s development and we don’t fully know her. She did promote the 50% eBay fee….

This will be interesting to say the least. I think Bets is far more logic driven than the two boys most of the time….. even with Gunther being “engineerish” in his outlook. His logic, is IMO, more didactic and rote…. rather than a core part of his thought process.

That said…. Bets line of “You’r both doing right wrong” is interesting and opens up a plethora of possibilities…. how will Bets do “right right”? Some potentially good, some potentially not so good (IMO):

1. She could guide Tiffany into getting a roommate (even Bets herself). [good]

2. She could encourage Tiffany to move into the Gulag. [not so good]

3. She could hear Tiffany’s story (about Annie) and pull a “TJ” and concoct some scheme to “fix” that situation. [both potentially good and not good]

4. She could take a more “tough love” approach and simply guide Tiffany into an “awakening” about her situation, but go no further [not good]

5. She and “the boys” could hatch some sort of hair-brained “sit-com-ish” scheme to have Tiffany find a pile of money…. but of course the scheme would go awry and allow for plenty of “comedy ensues” but probably some damage as well [interesting and entertaining, but likely not good for Tiffany]

I like Bets

One of the secrets of why college is so expensive now is actually the cost of housing. As unis and colleges are trying to attract more students from rich families (that will then donate money to keep the college going), those that still build any student housing are building ‘luxury’ dorms now, instead of the minimalistic stuff that we lived in during the Day. And a lot of colleges are basically letting the private sector build student housing, either on campus or near it. Private sector doesn’t build minimalistic stuff, either. Last night, local news in Orlando spotlighted a student who works full time while attending University of Central Florida (to get a teaching degree to teach disabled kids), has some scholarships, but still had to borrow money to pay her share of the rent…

“And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds.”

I predict Tiff will move in with Bets. She doesn’t need a “private” dorm room. Bets will help her ace the college course once Tiff admits she failed the first test. You heard it here first.

Bets seems nice, but she’s like many IRL people I know who, despite their niceness, I don’t desire to spend much time with them because they are bossy know-it-alls who are always up in others’ business giving them “helpful advice”. Yes, both Les and Gunther are “doing it wrong”, but as I have always taught my children, being right doesn’t give you the right to call everyone else wrong.

Les should certainly stop taking 50% of her tips. That was a bum deal. Too bad Bets wasn’t around then to advise Tiff not to agree to that. Gunther being paid to do work for her is entirely different as it is completely honorable.

Listen to the lady, gentleman and Les.

Paying to be in Tiffany’s good graces?? Isn’t that sort of like…..

TIffany has skills that she can use to earn her own way in life. She does NOT need any charity. Career counseling, budget planning and other life skills would be helpful to her. But do not make her think she can’t take care of herself. She can!

Oh I see the old, give a person a fish and you feed them for day, teach them to fish and they will never go hungry, speach .

I say leave the boys be Bets. They’ll probably end up paying for everything in trying to outdo the other … wait then that wouldn’t be very independent of Tiff. Forget what I just said.

First of all, Tiff needs to stop living in a “private” dorm room…..

yes, Bets knows they are going about it all wrong. Tiff needs to look for ways to cut costs; paying for expensive university housing on wage grade labor is a losing battle. Tiff can find a more cost efficient way to live while she is a student. Bets will help her see that light… we hope.

Ever since reading today’s effort this morning, the alliterative aspect of “You’re both doing right wrong.” has stuck with me. It makes me wonder if Greg has had that phrase in his back pocket for a while trying to find a way to use it…. or if it just popped into his mind when the need arose?

Either way…. the “right wrong” alliterative dichotomy is very interesting…… same sounds, but different letters; same sounds, but opposite meanings. Part of me would prefer Greg to have inserted a comma between right and wrong, but I can also see it being “ok” as is….. another dichotomy. :)

It’s better than doing right left or write draw.

I was going to ask Monday if Tiffany was still in her luxury dorm room — now I know.

The objective here is to help Tiffany, not to Virtue Signal, boys (and I use the term advisedly). Maybe Bets can get things properly tracked….

Check out his expression in all three panels. He believes he’s being all noble and selfless, but no one is bestowing immediate sainthood on him, and now awful ol’ Les is trying to outdo him…….oooooh, he’s just going to throw SUCH a tantrum!

Is he really trying to help Tiff as a friend, or does he just want people to admire him, and pat him on the head, and tell him what a good little boy he is? And before anyone says anything about how Les is acting——-Les is just being true to type. Gunthie is SUPPOSED to be better than that.
