Comic misunderstandings! Hilarity ensues!

Extremely inappropriate saleslady to make such suggestions to a minor.

My first reaction to seeing that salesperson is to walk away slowly, until I’m out of sight, then RUN!

Is that a tattoo/t-shirt shop?

I’m old, I don’t understand, but whatever they want to do to themselves is none of my business.

Lighten up! The sales person is talking appropriately to a kid. Can Shannon get a tattoo. No today but when she is 18, same thing with earrings. If you go to a shop like Marie Clair you can get glue on earrings and temporary tattoos. My daughters use to get ladybugs walking up their arms to match the paste on earrings. Lots of my little kid patrons ( kid librarian here) get temporary tattoos of dragons, unicorns, flowers, etc.

Friends come from the strangest of places. And are the strangest of people too.

Shannon is unpredictable

I’d tell the sales lady that she shouldn’t be trying to raise other people’s children and let her know I’d never shop at that store again, then walk out.

Here in Europe will be impossible.

Her tats, piercings, and bizarre hair have become the new norm. Luann & Jack are the odd ones out.

I did not pick up that the tattooed young lady talking to Shannon was a salesperson, primarily because I guess tat I can get blinded by my tendency to follow the storyline, with the character drawing being graphically lyrical ways of telling the story. So thanks for taking those blinders off, but nevertheless, the storyline I she here is an enormous HINT that Luann and Jack make an obvious couple, old enough to have a child like Shannon, being patient parents, even reacting like parents. Is this a prediction of them as a serious,, perhaps forever couple? These two are so made for each other, Ms. Dreamy Luann, Mr. Gentleman, Jack. If you just look at the drawing you might project that Jack is a knuckle-dragging jock, but in the story of Luann he is the exact opposite of that.

It is sweet that they think that. Once when we were still dating in the 80’s, a sales lady thought my husband and I were brother and sister. My then boyfriend decided to plant a big sexy kiss on me just to freak her out.

Actually Jack it is neither funny nor depressing.

I don’t think she should be encouraging a minor to get a tattoo, especially one that young.

It appears that Jack sees the funny side of this. Luann, on the other hand, is just dumbfounded. :)

I love this situation. Shannon has finally met someone who is completely able to understand her, Luann cannot say if being mistaken for a mother is funny or sad and Jack smiles at her in such a sweet/amused way♡. I can’t wait to see the T-shirt design.

This saleswoman should be Crystal, Tiff’s old pal that was put on a bus after the gang graduated high school.

I’d say the same about parents telling 2 yo + that they are a girl, when born a boy and vice versa. Tattoos, earrings permission is required, the other, just confuses the child for life.

I like how she immediately asks Luann and Jack if they’re her parents. I work retail, I would have gotten fired on the spot. Never get assume with your customers.

Amid the rousing cheers of the forever hopeful and somewhat predictable but beloved “Jack and Luann shippers,” let Me make this small humble suggestion:

Seeing that Pure Evil and Unrelenting Obnoxiousness have been tolerated in the VAST Luanniverse for FAR too long, with warm smiles and EXCUSES, I say it’s time to FIGHT back. “Daddy” Jack and “Momma” Luann? Get the kid a tattoo. No, you HEARD Me. Indulge the kid one more time and get her a tattoo. A nice, obvious, GLARING Face tattoo. Like Queequeg in Moby Dick. Or Mike Tyson. One Nice and big and “busy.” The kind that makes one stop in mid conversation and stare in utter disbelief. Shannon will think it’s the best Christmas present EVER! Ink that kid up, then return her to her dad. And be SURE to present him with a whopping big bill. It would be more than WORTH it, to see Jonah go completely Catatonic. Especially after you tell him it’s quite real and NEVER coming off. (It isn’t) “But it was what the dear sweet overindulged child Really, really, WANTED!” You should quip.

No, it won’t change Jonah from being a colossal, advantage-taking, WASTE of a parent. No sir. But you can BET, that the next time Jonah dumps Shan on the unsuspecting, that he’ll leave specific instructions that Luann and her big lug of a “boyfriend” are NOT to look after his kid again! EVER!

“go ask you mommy or daddy”. Ok, that may take a while as both are often out of my life and running around working or playing. While I hang out with my awesome aunty and her wierd friend.

On Monday, I expected Jack, The Dog Whisperer, to command his magical charm over Shannon…but Tuesday proved me wrong. Never would have guessed that this “very interesting” salesperson would be The Shannon Whisperer.

Luann and Jack must have been about 10 or 11 when they conceived.

Maybe it’s a regional thing, but I’ve never had any issues with tattooed and pierced sales people with vibrantly colored hair. As long as they are pleasant, polite and can do their job, this old lady is good with it.

I’m confused. “Boss Lady” seems to have several online store variations, and they don’t look like a teen Hot Topic type of store. Is this comic based on a real store, or are G&K making up a store name that also coincidentally exists in real life but with a different type of merchandise?

Based on the TeeHee Tees, it’s quite obvious that Tiff wasn’t shopping for a business mogul work wardrobe a few days ago.

At least Shannon has stopped storming around and screaming. I remember being fascinated by tattoos at her age and determined to get one just like my cousin. He was in the army and had a huge American Eagle on his arm. To this day I have yet to get one. He died testing helicopters for the Army during the Vietnam years. I still miss him. He was a great guy!

I wonder if this will be Jack’s new girlfriend. She likes kids and she is gainfully employed, which is a step up from most girls he is interested in.

I cannot believe anyone here thinks salesperson’s doing anything inappropriate. She is just kidding the kid along, and being nice to her as she does it. As for dress codes, this is the year 2019. It got to be comparatively normal to have flashy hair and tattoos all over the country, sometime back. It’s just no big deal.

Anyone who has worked in a restaurant lately, or gone to a restaurant and seen the cooking staff, would realize that tats are a major part of life for those in the hospitality industry.

Temporary tattoos and clip-on ear rings, this way shannon can feel and look cool, she gets her way and without permanent and costly body alterations.

My mind has ‘fast forwarded’ to Shannon as a loud and rebellious teenager whom I am imagining might look like this sales lady.

Boss Lady is okay, but she couldn’t measure up to Crystal, the queen of Goth.
