These are always great strips. By which I mean the Sunday Spaceman Spiff’s.

I like the crater caused by the “landing.”

Mix sodium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid and you’ll get salt water!

I had a dog named Brandy who could do that no mater the size of the tub. She could move a Rail Tie Plate to get under the fence and heat the house when a thunderstorm brewed up.

His knowledge of chemistry isn’t any better than his knowledge of arithmetic. Methane clouds can’t rain sodium hydroxide (which he correctly knows to be a caustic alkali) but just might create some impressive fireballs/craters if he could ignite them… (don’t tell him I said that…)

Perhaps there are times when Spaceman Spiff needs a phone booth so he can suddenly transform into Stupendous Man. I wonder if that’s ever happened.

Tim Taylor thought that E meant “extra ten miles” on the Home Improvement series finale.

Calvin doesn’t know what the E on the fuel gauge means, but he knows what sodium hydroxide is???

I liked baths as a kid. As an adult, I’m too big to fit in the tub comfortably, and besides I rarely make the time to enjoy a bath.

I’m not sure how “clean” I ever really got at bath time, but I think the several toys I always took in there with me, including copious numbers of dinosaurs, were likely cleaner.

These Sunday strips (or many of them, anyway) show how much Mr Watterson loves to draw. Just loves it, both the imagining and the execution. A treat.

Will he find any dilithium crystals to replenish his warp engine or will he die of caustic poisoning? Stay tuned…

I guess I was a weird kid because I liked taking baths before I slept. I still shower at night or I have trouble sleeping.

It seems that Calvin HAS been paying attention in science class.
