Tiffany’s room door changed

So where did the party go? ✨

Oh, those innocent puppy dog eyes again. (If anyone saw my “Garfield” comment yesterday, I guess I was wrong about my new modem making me unable to read GoComics. THIS time I won’t repeat what I’ve said in all the comics in which I comment seeing as I got a little bad rep. I apologize for that.)

Is anyone actually studying at the study ball?

Acting skills have improved.

I’m curious about the party animals and whether they resume their bash. Will they embrace Tiffany as their hero? But I’d really much rather see Tiffany seek out Bets to THANK her for the rescue.

Tiffany is amazing, with her little Miss Innocent Act. She’s kind of like an Ann Evil clone…

OK. Bets had seen on her phone screen the actual party in progress (in Kip’s room, I think). She saw Tiffany there. She knew that Bernice was on the way to put the kibosh on it. She texted someone, perhaps Tiffany herself, warning that the RA was coming. The real partygoers keep it quiet for the moment, Tiffany hurries back to her room and revs up the loud music. A knock at the door, and here we are.

Oh Bernice you’re a liar as much as Tiffany is. You lied about the reason for stopping by. You changed gears and spilled out that you weren’t invited to a party. Do you realize how pathetic you sound?? The ‘Poor me. I wasn’t invited to party’ whine. You would be better off being honest and say you were alerted to a party and heard music from her room so you are checking out the room. Then say so it is not the room so you need to go and find it. And Tiffany, you laid it a bit too thick there.

And wanna bet Bernice returns to the Study Ball to find an empty room?

To me, the interesting question… Does Bern stop in her tracks a few steps down the hall and say, “WAIT A DARN MINUTE!”

Yes. Tiff is very trying.

I like that the exact same “true friend” and “I try” exchange, Tiffany doing exactly the same face-and-body language, worked on Gunther (Tuesday, March 10th) and Bernice (today).

3rd. panel is also Tiffany’s “Was it good for you?” comment, saved for the guys. Now, lots of time left, so will a couple of others suddenly materialize in the room?

Tiffany dodged a big bullet!!

In frame 3, Bern looks like she bought it. I’d like this better if we see tomorrow that she didn’t.

I don’t buy it. Back on the 16th Gunther is the one who declared it was a little party in Tiffany’s room, and Tiffany wanted to spare Bernie’s feelings. In the same panels Gun and Bets saw a media feed of a “major party” but Gunther, in answer to Bernie’s question about whether the little party was in Tiffany’s room said ‘I guess." There is nothing to indicate that Bernie knew anything about the major party yet. So when Bernie went to Tiffany’s room (a clear setup) Bernie first says the music was loud (yesterday) now today mentions that Gunther said she, Bernie, was not invited. Tiffany, says “Oh” then says the lie that there was no party, but then says “I decided if THEY (not her) don’t want you THEY couldn’t have me.” A dumb contradictory lie now. So Bernie innocently says, Oh really, come to the study ball, blah, blah, but the third panel is result of the smoking non sequitur: Bernie leaves and thanks Tiffany for protecting her feelings, FROM A PARTY THAT DID NOT EXIST PER TIFFANY, and Tiffany pulls her innocent friend routine. Bernie is not stupid, although she can be gullible, but either the lie will hit her, or she already knows. And there is the twist of whether Bets and Gunther texted Tiffany in time to so she could leave the major party in time to get to her room and concoct this story. Unless GnK have yet another twist (which they probably do) Bernie will see through this enormous hole in a tiny donut.

I have to add one other thing to my thoughts right above. I said that maybe Bets texted Tiffany to warn her that Bernie might bust her. That is quite plausible, but what troubled me about that deduction is the time line: how could Tiffany get back to her room so fast? I mean Bernie was on a mission, and would have heard a loud party, but Gunther, innocently, suggested that the party was in Tiffany’s room, but did not know about the Blacklit party. I think it is safe to assume that Bernie was looking for a party, not necessarily Tiffany’s room, but lo and behold that is where she found Tiffany. Even though time is different in Luannverse, I think that what is most logical (and I warn that logic may not be the answer here) is that Stefi and Tiffany, or maybe one or the other, most likely Stefi, because I sense she is almost in the Eiffel class of grifter deviousness, told Tiffany to hightail it back to her room and do the setup. Except that Tiffany is not in that Eiffel level of deviousness. Tiffany spilled the beans when told Bernie she wanted to spare Bernie’s feelings about being invited to they (their-not her) party. If Bernie figures this out, Bets and Gunther are clean as a whistle, but Tiffany? Dumm De Dummm Dummm. Tiffany being a grifter is NOT you.

Has anyone else noticed that the strip has basically become all about Tiffany, and isn’t very much at all about Luann any more?

A very confusing and. frankly, disturbing arc. This looks like some confused plot from some teenage party movie.

AND Tiffany’s behavior!?!? It looks like she has, indeed, joined the Hall-A denizens. The lies and subterfuge are not what we are used to lately.

You’ve got two days to save this one Greg.

Just planted my garden and need some of that bull stuffing Tiffany is spreading there.

Tiffany’s behavior is so fake that it’s really disgusting. At least she should have gone to the Study Ball just for thank Bets and Gunther. But noooo, she can’t miss a little bit of that Blackout Party. Really sad to see her regress like this.

Boy, is Bernice gullible. She didn’t notice that Tiffany is still dressed in party clothes? As soon as she leaves Tiffany will just go back to the party.

Well, Gunther may not have a talent for lying, but Tiff seems to have enough for the both of them.

Part of Me is really hoping that Bernice didn’t BUY any of Tiffany’s bullsh*t. And that she’ll hide around the corner, and wait for Tiffany to leave. And follow Tiffany right back to Kip’s party.

How were Bernice’s feelings protected? Not by telling her that there was a party but they did not want Bernice there. That is not something a friend would ever say to you. Just tell her the party ended early or moved to a different location.

I believe Tiffany is blowing whatever “redemption credits” she might have accumulated recently. This is the old Tiffany shining through, and it’s sad to see.

Glad Gunther found someone else, no matter if flawed.
