I’d rather play with a kitty cat than a doll baby too, Girl!

Give me a cute stuffed animal any day. Baby dolls are so creepy. And me being a lover of ghost stuff, I’ve heard enough stories of possessed dolls to not ever want to be anywhere near one.

But at least the Girl has Elbiff to offer protection from such things!

Napping once again

A seepy baby mow, so fast asleep right now

It’s time to nap again, for me too!

My turn to ask for healing thoughts… Pepperpot has been regurgitating his dry food and we were finally able to get to the vet. He has anemia, she thinks he’s bleeding somewhere internally. He’s on steroids now, and we’re to let him eat as much as he wants, poor guy is only 3kg (6lbs).

He didn’t talk to us for like 3 months after we got back from my knee replacement in December. He’s barely stirred from my side since. We feed him in our room, because he was letting Sheba eat, and she’s a greedy little thing sigh So yeah, he had lost weight, we didn’t know that he had anemia :( She also tested for hyperthyroid and kidney disease, both negative, thank Cat!

He’s 11 years old, and we’re not ready to lose our baby.. so he’ll be taking his pills, and going into the vet once a week for blood tests. At some point she may have to do x-rays to see if she can spot where the bleeding is.

I love the little heart leaking out of Elvis in the last panel. It seems as though the Girl and Elvis now share the same type of bond that Elvis has with the woman.

OFF TOPIC: Paul had a really good night (and therefore I did) and is quite coherent this morning. I hope it lasts for a few days.

Elbiff is so cute in ‘his’ bed, with the girl caring for him. He made a promise years ago, he would never let anything happen to her. Now she is returning the love. A perfect strip that we all need these days.

It tickles me how “grumpy Elvis” is so enamored of this kid…

I knew that Elvis would be the baby in that crib! And, the Girl will take good care of him.

If you have an Elvis, you don’t need a doll. I used to mind my little stepgrandchildren. One cat would leave with the intent of returning when the “little monkeys” were gone. The other cat would rush up to them. “Are you going to pet me till I can’t stand it, then put me in a large paper sack and release me in another room? Alright, then, let’s go.”

I’m glad she knows the difference between a pretend doll and a living cat in her play. Some don’t.

Today is … wait, maybe I better check … … … lemme see, here, where did i last see that calendar … … nailed it to a wall so I wouldn’t lose it … … ah, there it is … … no, wait, that’s 2016 ……

Today is German Chocolate Cake Day. I guarantee that if we overindulge in this delectable confection, we will all need more lebensraum.

It’s funny, but every excellent chef I have known was not French, but German, or at lease Alsatian (the region, not the dog!) Why German cuisine does not get the recognition French cuisine does is utterly beyond me. Every French cuisine restaurant I have ever visited has been a disappointment, at least to some degree. On the other hand, none of German cuisine has ever been disappointing—I’ve even had to admit that the liver-dumpling soup was good, and I HATE liver (Que Stevie Goodman). This does not appear to be a matter of taste. I’ve had French dishes I thought were very good—just never in a French cuisine restaurant. And while there is some justice in calling me a Francophobe like Sam Clemens, I am also a gourmand—I love good food, and I don’t care what its denomination is. As our Bharati Bear, Gent, is fond of saying, “Gimme all your food.”

I just don’t understand why German cuisine doesn’t get the same recognition. After all, we have a perfect example, right here. Now pass the German Chocolate Cake … what do you mean, Gent ate the last piece? Ha, fooled him! I had another hidden here, somewhere … maybe I left it where I put the calendar …

Notice she’s incredibly rough with the doll but when faced with a living creature she’s nice and gentle. At least she knows how to treat Elvis.

That doll looks so much like the girl when she was a baby. I wonder if it’s one of those American Girl’s Truly Me™ dolls.
