I just dropped off some pork ‘n’ beans at my church for the local food bank called Mannafest. We are responsible for donating pork ‘n’ beans. We can’t have church services, but charity and helping feed the hungry should not stop.

Life is what you make it. Friggin’ morons.

I emphatically Love this particular comic strip. It is upon each of us to Choose to Act for the benefit of the whole. We have a history of pulling together to do the hard work. Pioneers stopped their work to help a neighbor raise a barn. They did not wish it built. Americans have a tradition of “can do” that requires sleeves rolled up, and work to be done. Magical thinking may lead to potential solutions, but it is the hands-on work that makes the solutions a reality. I do what I can. So Thank you, to each and every one of you, who do that hands-on work, from medical professionals, all their support staff, USPS, delivery & repair folks, & neighbors who run errands for people like me (& everyone I’ve not listed). I join with millions of others when I say our appreciation and gratitude knows no bounds for you ALL; you who have chosen not to magically wish problems away, but to work so hard hands-on. You ARE the embodiment of the American Spirit at its best.

Today, I passed a food bank on my bike. Nice folks, volunteering..around the corner, I saw a guy loading food into a Porsche SUV….

Ever notice that trillion dollars companies have enough money to fix the problems like homelessness, hunger in our country, but don’t?

We have this wonderful comic, reminding us that there is good in us and we can have a positive impact on the world….but we end up circling the political drain with trolling and feeding the troll….can we have just one day without the BS? Please.

The problem is that even if someone good got into office and accomplished some good things, 4 years later there will be someone trying to take their place and undo it all. This is why human government can never work for the long term benefit of all people. It is imperfect and sadly, selfishly based. Every politician has their own agenda. For example, racism and bigotry cannot be legislated away. In order to get rid of those things you need to change people’s hearts, the real seat of motivation. And there is only one form of government that can do that

I’m on the Board of our local Food Bank. This one’s going on the wall.
