Good morning™, fudge [brownie] packers !

Will his first bad guy act be to skip out without paying ?  I just knew we weren’t going to see a face today.

Will tomorrow be a Roll of Honor, End of Watch or an actual Crime Stop tip ?

Interesting she only wears gloves when actually scooping up the ice cream. Unless our mystery person wisely requested her to put them on.

I betting it’s Shaky who made bail again!(not really!)

Like the rose was the Easter egg pointing toward the eventual revelation that Mr. Bigg was, in fact, Mr. Bribery, do we know of any ancient Dick Tracy villain with a taste for fudge brownie ice cream?

Two dips instead of scoops, seems oddly specific.

While the writer had provided the artist with a reveal that would’ve shocked everyone right down to their toes, the artist decided instead to scrap the script in favor of showing off his ability to draw hands. I believe I speak for everyone when I say “GOOD CALL!

    1-LEFTY: Ugh…

    2-DAINTY: Uh, Uh

    3-RIGHTY: YUM, YUM

2 DIPS or 2 CONES? a double dip would be 2 scoops on ONE cone.

To paraphrase Sigmund Freud… “Sometimes an ice cream cone is just an ice cream cone”… In this case it’s “ice cream cones”…

I’m pullin’ my hair out here. Is that 2 cones with one scoop each? Some sort of double cone with 2 scoops? A new cone design with a partition between the cargo holds? Would 2 different flavors melt together, and if so can you get a refund? Why does everything have to be so complicated?

That certainly looks to me like two single-scoop (single dip) cones, not a double-dip (double scoop) cone. So, Mr. Fudge Brownie is getting an extra cone for his price, or he’s getting two $3.00 cones. The drawing is a bit ambiguous, though; it is hard to be sure that what we see is really two separate cones, just as it is hard to accept that it is a single somewhat oddly-shaped cone.

Anyway, all this is just marking time and giving some depth to the character of Mr. Fudge Brownie, whom I take to be our villain (else, why is here at all?)….

[P.S. Some minor but prolonged computer problems delayed my posting by a couple of hours this evening.]

It’s MIA in the usual places, but it did show up elsewhere, briefl y. Basically a recap for Sunday readers, New villain goes by “Coney” — if he is new, his face still isn’t shown

The Denver Post web site has it up.

And my predictions are getting better: the new crime boss is indeed nicknamed “Coney”! It’s a million-to-one that his full name will be Calogero Neopolitana, but I’m halfway there…

    Good morning™, all!

We finally meet the bad guys, but I don’t think it took too long. The guy that seems to be the second in command looks like Howdy Doody.

    https://i.pinimg.com/236x/1e/31/45/1e31455d9a96ecf7060c011be5d05328--howdy-doody-vintage-tv.jpg

Congratulations to artsyguy65 who accidentally guessed that our ice-cream-cone-addicted crime boss is named Coney.

Continuity error: The two scoops of fudge brownie ice cream have mysteriously turned white and pink, respectively. This one we can’t blame on GoComics. This would be Shane’s work, but it’s the dialogue yesterday that was in error because the Sunday strip would have been done before the weekday strips.

    Another strip, another Sunday.

And Dick hasn’t come our way.

And now for something different: Check out today’s Pearls Before Swine – for how a crossover should be done!

For all those who question the two scoop/one cone rendering, you can order a case of the side-by-side (or to be correct, Twin Scoop) Joy Cakes variety here:

    Regarding the Sunday strip:

The double fudge brownie has morphed into side-by-side vanilla and strawberry (something pink, anyway). The freckle-faced redheaded kid is apparently a junior aspirant gangster. Coney, the boss, is wearing a checked yellow jacket. Seems like a new character to me, but then my memory for or records of past possibles are not so good as those of our experts here….
