Slightly OT: I had a dream where my mom got BCN in audiobook form. An omen, perhaps? :D
Now OT: The Boy may be on to something! The term “werewolf” literally means “manwolf”, so then…a “were”-house is a manhouse? Or…some kind of monster cat house, if that third panel is any indication…
Oh, oh — a full moon is due October 31. Perfect timing and double scary. I wouldn’t trick or treat anywhere near that place (those fangs!) unless I was carrying an armful of wolfsbane. Oh, and it’s a “blue moon,” too.
Looks as if Tommy in on the beat because he has his microphone in position. I love that the man is including Tommy in his hug of reassurance. I think the idea of a werehouse spooked our cat about town reporter.
When children make off the wall comments it’s always good to have them explain their logic. More often than not, it does make sense if we see it through their eyes. I heard this conversation between my nephew and my mom;N: “Grandma, there’s three Peas.”G: “What?”N: “there’s the letter P, the P you eat, and the P you pee.”G: (looking at my brother) “well, he’s not wrong there”
My worst experience with warehouses was for a college business project plan. We were going to buy a warehouse for new distribution and the guy typed in whorehouse for everything. 20,000SF whorehouse with so much stacking capacity and trucking bays was a lot more interesting!
Off topic I know: I have a Siamese cat that has ignored my hubby for 10 years. Sunday Tommy had a micro stroke and was hospitalized. We brought him home yesterday and when he sat down on the couch, Alice jumped into his lap and rubbed on him, purring. She stayed in his lap until bedtime and then followed him to bed. Got on his pillow and would not move. Tommy is doing great and will be ok, but, I think he has a new friend.
Belle, our mini Black-Panther will go from sound asleep to total attentiveness, looking over your shoulder at what appears to be a blank wall. After a minute, she will lay her head back down but keep an eye on what looks like empty space.
Cats see the other side. This is from my book:
…Mittens had walked up behind her and gestured to the grave. “Belle, Cats…more than any other creature on this world, know that this is not the end. The energy that makes each of us special goes on beyond this mortal shell,” she said patting Belle on the back.
“Some people call it Heaven. And others call it Paradise, Moksha or Nirvana. People wars are fought about which interpretation is the right one, when in reality they all are. But whatever the name, people cannot see it or understand it until they pass. Only we cats understand that it is real in this existence.
“When you get older, you will be able to catch glimpses of the universe beyond what we observe around us. Sometimes I think that is why some people get unnerved by cats. When we are looking at a supposed blank wall or staring at an empty ceiling, we are actually catching glimpses into that space between our world and the next…
This may have already been asked/answered, but will there be a BCN calendar this year?I miss Georgia’s gorgeous artwork on my wall! For 2020 I purchased a coloring calendar with the intention of everyone in the family coloring their birth month and then drawing straws for the second month they could color and it was a disaster! Husband and son did not wish to participate, haha! So I would LOVE if Georgia was going to have a calendar. I’d buy one every year for sure.
If you bought your Elvis Puffs Out from Amazon or another online seller that has an option to rate your purchase, rate the book if you have a chance. Rating can help Georgia sell more books. Also if you are on Goodreads you can rate/review it there too.
Scary Warehouse reminds me of a scary airplane. 1940 my father took me to Newark NJ Airport. Back then passengers could go down to the tarmac to board planes. A Ford tri-motor was about to let passengers off at the terminal. It taxied toward us, & just before stopping engines did a momentary full throttle before shutting down. I was terrified of this monster headed for us with engines screaming.
Used to have a tape where one of the songs was “The Werehouse Blues”. Told from the point of view of the creature who became a building (not just warehouses) any time it got hungry. I miss that tape.
Bill Jackson—I know you haven’t felt up to commenting, but I hope you are still reading. I’m keeping positive thoughts that “Delta 2020” will calm down before it hits the coast and that you and all commenters in the path stay safe and dry!

From CSN: Our House
It looks like a building
But during the night when the full moon’s bright it will change
Staring at the windows for and walk by quickly while I listen for a meow
Walk with Daddy and Tommy and get a hug for me, only for me
Let’s go home now and smile and rest for with sweet dreams, everything is good
Such a cozy room, the windows are illuminated by the
Moonlight through them, four cats mewing for all, mewing for all
Warehouse is a very, very, scary house it looks like a mean cat
But no need to be scared of that
I’ve got Mommy and Daddy and the cats
And our meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow
Our house is a very, very, very fine house with Tommy in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy with mew!
And our
It’s a scary house, but I don’t need to be afraid!

Where do scaredy cats go
Can they find their way home
Safe in your shelt’ring arms
With a love that’s always there
And if something scares them
Won’t you always help them
One look in your eyes
And we know that you will care for them

Inga: A WAREHOUSE!
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: WAREHOUSE?
Igor: There.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: What?
Igor: There, house. There, castle.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Why are you talking that way?
Igor: I thought you wanted to.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, I don’t want to.
