So Luann got right to the point. Surprising. But I think it would have been a bit a bit more interesting if Lu had said:

Luann – “Bad news, Bern. The hot water at Brad and Toni’s exploded and there’s extensive water damage. They are going to have to move back here until repairs are made. So you’ll have to stay some place else. But the good news is, Jack said you can stay at his place while the repairs are being made. “As long as she likes,” he told me to tell you!”

Then have Luann watch Bern’s reaction. Should be most revealing……, ;)

Time for Bernice to rearrange the furniture in her bedroom.

Bernice doesn’t want to admit she likes jack, thus why she dreams about him. Why? Probably doesn’t wanna hear the drama from Luann. So instead of dealing with Luann giving her a hard time or luann trying to steal Jack from her; it’s so much easier to lie and be done with it.And Bernice CAN lie because she’s got a poker face, Luann wears her heart on her sleeve.

Luann’s nosiness will make the readers who dislike her quite agitated. I don’t care. But it is obnoxious of her. (Jack was wearing nothing, technically, yet it was boring.)

Yesterday, I said Luann was asking Bern a teasing question. I was wrong. Yesterday, Luann wasn’t asking Bernice anything. She was just telling Bernice what she heard when Bernice was talking in her sleep. In today’s strip, Luann is asking questions, and Bernice “doth protest too much” to quote (or misquote :P) the Bard.

If Bernice thinks her feeling for Jack are some big secret, she is soooooooo wrong. Luann isn’t stupid, she saw the way Bern reacted when Jack gave her Monstro. And I am pleased to note that so far, Luann isn’t acting the least bit jealous. I really, REALLY hope she stays that way, and G&K don’t regress her to the battle-with-another-girl-over-a-boy Jr. High level.

Jack was wearing tails, of course.

Jack’s head has started to look more human, so I was wondering if he was going to be a bigger character. Brad’s head became less-cartoony the more important he became to the plot, too!

This sort of fantasy creeps me out. I have never had a dream where I was a merman, or satyr, or a centaur, or anything with the lower half of some other species. Now, wouldn’t that just blow my urologist’s mind when it came time for the annual digital exam? To me fantasy is Tiffany skinny dipping with all her parts where and what they should be. Thank you for your kind attention.

Bernice Bernice… in panel two she said too much. "A "sensuous " dream", and with a very nervous smile. Luann knows how ask questions. Asking what he was wearing and not the nature of the dream is a great technique. Bernice will admit it. It’s only a matter of time. HOORAY!!! GO LUANN!!! Bernice need to admit her feelings, with herself and with someone else. And she need to understand Jack and Luann’s relationship. I love the comical tension of this arc♡!

K may be writing the script, but I think G added the extra touch of having Luann’s cheeks full and a drop hanging off her lip, thus allowing anyone lying in the very crowded gutter to think that Luann should not talk with her mouth full, but BLANK or BLANK BLANK BLANK.

Luann’s out of the box morning semi-zinger reminds me of the morning tête-à-tête’s she used to have with Brad many moons ago. Are GnK signaling a sister-like bonding in the future? Several, including yours truly, have wondered about such.

When denying something that actually happened, it’s best to stick with a simple “no” — any embellishment weakens the argument.

Wednesday and Bernice is already giving things up to Luann and Luann has the smug look; fair given the snark thrown in the past. A few things to consider; 1) Does Luann know more than Bernice (she obviously knows Bernice has a thing for Jack). 2) Is her knowledge well found or is there a surprise coming next week (say set up on Saturday for Luann and Bernice to meet Jack, breaking ball on Wednesday). 3) Until Jack weighs in we don’t know what Luann knows or doesn’t know down this path. Come Watson, the Game is afoot!

It is of interest that Luann possibly heard more than shown to us. We all had the advantage of seeing Bern’s fantasy. Luann only heard it and had to create her own visuals.

I can’t help but wonder what else Bernice may have gasped aloud?? 8^ )

Bernice is going to need the fiber in that cereal. She is so full of sheet.

This has long day written all over it.

Why is Bernice ashamed of her feelings for Jack? She is too uptight to enjoy a relationship with a man. Luann is not dating Jack so he is free to date another woman.

Regrettable to pose a question like “Why would I dream about Jack?” to Luann, because Luann never met a question she thought was rhetorical.

Luann knows the lady doth protest too much.

Jack is persona non grata, at least until Bern (or anyone else, for that matter) shows interest in him. Then she lives out that line in a classic song by the Honeys: “The one you can’t have is the one you really care for”.

Guys call it a Jack dream. For girls it’s Jill!
