The problem isn’t so much that men don’t want to commit, but that men want it to be their own decision rather than something they’ve been badgered into. Men feel the need to be sure, whereas women feel the need to beat their biological clock. And rarely the twain shall meet!
Goddesses are WAAAAYYY older than Gods. Athene and Aphrodite were way older than Zeus in the original matriarchal triple moon goddess cults. Then invaders from the steppes came in with their bull and ram gods, installed patriarchal institutions, and the old, old myths were reworked to fit that newer paradigm.
Something weird here—the Non Sequitur for Jan 4 in the LA Times is completely different from this one. I was actually looking forward to reading the comments for the Times version, which is WAY more provocative than this one!

To keep divorce lawyers out of work, just find someone you can’t stand and give them a house.

No worry, folks. He is fine. Difficult to do serious injury with a three foot drop off the edge. Grab the other ankle and pull him up.
monya_43 about 4 years ago
Be careful what you pray for because prayers are answered and God has a sense of humor. After all, He/She created us.

Funny cartoon. Finally a non-political and non-religious bashing cartoon. Oh darn….shouldn’t have read the comments.

It’s a WISHING well, NOT a PRAYER well.

Actually she is is wishing for a man, he leaped for loss of his woman!
mistercatworks about 4 years ago
This looks like a get-away-at-all-costs move rather than a commitment. Beware of wishful thinkers.

Am I the only one (other than maybe eddi_tbh) reading “commit” as “commit suicide” and thinking it’s in rather bad taste?
