The mailmanâŚ.obviously a rare species that brings gifts. Some like those gifts and another blames mail carriers for parting the man and woman with giving up their gold! Gold that could be better spent on treats for Elvis!OT vaccine side effects:
TRUTH! Not so much lately, but for awhile I had to often search through the Sunday paper to immediately throw out the reeking perfume inserts. Worse than Smell-O-Vision :-)
I still have a somewhat sore arm and this morning I had a headache upon awakening that went away within a few minutes after I arose. Also Iâve had some aching muscles and swollen lymph nodes . The swollen lymph nodes went away in a few hours and I have not had them since. I feel back to normal as I write this. Looking forward to my second shot in three weeks.
That alleged Mailman definitely looks like a dodgy character. Probably a shape-shifting trickster trying to stupify everyone with cheap perfume in order to steal their gold.
Hey, the box with a towel in it on the kitchen countertop is real and apparently just as decadent as advertised: https://www.instagram.com/p/CK-BnQZpGY_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Has Elvis forgot that it was the mailman who rescued young Beatrix from the tree with an assist from the squirrel?
Nowadays I do not get too many catalogs in the mail anymore but I remember the Avon bag that the neighborhood Avon rep sometimes left on the front doorknob if we were out and it often was loaded with different perfume and cologne samples. I remember one called Wild Country that my wife got for me a few times.
I think the greatest catalog of all time is one that many of us will remember from our younger days: The Sears Christmas Wishbook! Us kids would wear that thing out over the fall months before the holidays. A close second was the S&H Green Stamp catalog. My Dad always had the regular Sears catalog available for ordering Craftsman Tool products or to check on Kenmore appliances and also had a Radio Shack catalog handy for any electronic needs. I miss those days.
A) itâs nice to see Goldie and Lupin on the same side B) Puck is very defensive/protective of mail carriers. Donât mess with mailmen if you donât want to incur Puckâs wrath C) and although I too like catalogs (some more than others) Iâd like them better if the same shops didnât send a new one every week containing pretty much all the same merchandise as the last one with just a new cover (cataligs breed faster than rabbits) and D) Elvis does make some valid points here. A catalogâs main goal is the part people and their gold, plus a few contain perfume samplesâbut not many
Itâs snowing heavily here and thereâs a wind chill factor of -7c. Why does Monty the cat, whoâs never seen snow before, not only want to go out in it but demands that all the doors between the garden and the fire are left wide open? Monty now looks like a negative of a Dalmatian. Still, heâs having fun. I think.
Elvis stop and consider the plight of the unfortunate mail carrier on a day when multiple catalogs and magazines all containing cheap perfume have to be delivered all along their mail route.
Please, some good purrs and hugs for my Flynn. Heâs in kidney failure. The vet thinks itâs chronic but heâs flushing his system this weekend and says even if it is chronic I may be able to help him along with a decent quality of life for a while by home IVs and kidney friendly food. Heâs my best cat, my black Siamese, whoâs slept on my pillow every night for his entire 17 years. His best cat friend, who doesnât like anyone, man nor beast, but Flynn came up after I was in bed last night and sat on my shoulder and gently patted my face. Theyâre amazing.
My two most favourite catalogues were JCrew and Victorian Trading Co. Just the pictures alone were well worth receiving them. I bought the most incredibly beautiful hat pins and stationary from Victorian Trading. :)
My favorite is the Vermont Country Store catalog. We have used that to send Mac fun stuff while at school.
A long time ago, I loved all the Christmas catalogs that use to start showing up in October. Nowadays, hardly any show up, they are all online. That is undoubtedly better for the environment, but not nearly as much fun.
I used to look forward to this time of year when all the seed catalogs showed up. They helped me remember that Spring was not far away. Now we donât get any.
Yes, catalogs that target women do reek of cheap perfume that does not go away. âCheapâ smelling until you try to buy it and then it is very expensive.
Look, itâs Elvisâif he canât gripe about mailcarriers being âfake,â then heâs going to find something else about them to gripe about, dang it!
Off topic but I have a question: I know there are rescue people out here in kitty land. Someone who fosters kittens like I do called me yesterday with a possible project for me. Sheâs acquired an old, real mink coat. I did some research on it (the label is still there) and it appears to be from around the 1940s in NY. Anyway, we know that rescue and rehab people use little pouches for tiny baby animals. She doesnât sew but I do. So, Iâve been looking for some instructions or help on the web on how to make something. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have never had any trouble finding something I needed to buy. The last thing I need is a book 99.9% full of things I donât need. Especially now that we-all got indoor plumbing.
Catalogs have largely been replaced by electronic spam. I have worn out seven âDeleteâ keys âŚ
I donât miss catalogs at all, though I do remember the old days, and how much I enjoyed some of them back then. Our security software includes âsolicitation reduction,â and it has drastically reduced the amount of physical (snail mail) and electronic spam we get. Almost worth the price for that, alone.

Yeah, Elvis, back off. My mail carrier brings me books and waves when I yell thanks from a safe distance. Books, at my door! Awesome.

Elvis-Anum: I just discovered a stack of tablets by the scroll box.
Beatrixia: Ooh, I canât wait to see what the new hieroglyphs have for this season.
Elvis-Anum: Careful, these tablets are a nefarious way to part us from our gold.
Beatrixia: But I need to order a new filing cask, and you need some more scroll shelves.
Enter Puckmosis
Puckmosis: Has the Papyrus Cat been here yet?
Elvis-Anum: How many times do I have to tell you
Puckmosis: Oh good, hereâs the new kibble tablet.
Elvis-Anum: Donât read it, Puckmosis, youâll be much poorer!
Enter Burt-Ra
Burt-Ra: Did the Papyrus Cat leave off the new seed tablet yet?

Wait Mister Postman
Oh yeah
Is there a catâlog in your bag for me
Please, please Mister Postman
Whyâs it been a very long time â Oh yeah
Since âL.L. Beanâ warmed my fuzzy behind
There must be some ideas today
From âIKEAâ and jewelry from âKayâ
Please Mister Postman, look and see
Is there a catâlog, or perhaps 23
Iâve been watchinâ here waitinâ Mister Postman
So patiently, for just a âBlairâ or just a âBurpeeâ
Or a scratchânâsniff âCatnip Quarterlyâ
Please Mister Postman (Mister Postman, look and see) Oh yeah
Is there a âCurrentâ or âDollar Treeâ for me?
Please, please Mister Postman
Whyâs it been a very long time â Oh yeah
Since I sunned on âEasy Comfortsâ so fine
So many days you passed me by
I heard you whistlinâ and I wondered why
You didnât stop to make me feel better
By leavinâ me a âHam & Cheeseâ newsletter
Please Mister Postman look and see (Postman postman)
Is there a âJ âMewââ oh yeah in your bag for me? (Postman postman)
You know its been so long (Postman postman)
Yes since I heard from âMiles Kimballââs cat line (Postman postman)
You better wait a minute, wait a minute
Oh you better wait a minute
Please, please Mister Postman (Wait a minute Mister Postman)
Please check and see just one more time for me
You better wait, wait a minute
Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute
Please Mister Postman
Deliver âTrendsetterâ de sooner de better
Wait a minute, wait a minute
Wait a minute, please Mister Postman
Wait a minute, wait a minute oh oh
(Brian Holland / Freddie Gorman / Georgia Dobbins / Robert Bateman / William Garrett â Please Mr. Postman)
