Someone once adapted the “American Tribal Love-Rock Musical : HAIR” as a kid’s version. Of course, that required some re-writing because of the edgy language and action of the play. They called it “Hair Cut for Kids.”
At the end of Act One they did the parachute thing where everyone went under the ‘chute and moments later came out in clown costumes. Nice surprise for child viewers.
That replaced the sequence in the adult version where the entire cast came from under a large blanket or sheet… naked.
In the early ‘70s, I saw a touring company version of the adult show in New Orleans… and was surprised to see so many of the audience produce opera glasses for that moment.
Poor babies. The scene was so dimly lighted they missed whatever thrill they had expected.
I am going with modern plumbing, having just recently pooped within my house and watched it just flush away. Yes, I am glad I am not pooping over a hole in my backyard. And even happier that people are not tossing their wastes into the streets.
How are they keeping the parachute inflated for that long? As I recall from my time as a kid back when we did that in class, the parachute would still settle and flatten fairly quickly (in less than a minute surely) because it’s definitely not air tight by design.

Love how Wallace assumes the lotus position — a spiritualist to his core.

Optimism is Wallace’s forte. His exuberance is a welcome thing in the morning when I read the comics.

I like how “modern plumbing” is well below “bagpipes”.

The second panel, beside the teacher—what do you guys see? It doesn’t see to match the first panel. Help out my old eyes.
