One of the TV versions of ZORRO had Zorro on a black stallion. The horse appeared gray on the screen so they used black shoe polish to make his black look black. Weird but true.
I hate to spoil everyone’s fun, but the Meet Our Reporters bio on Baba says she is 26 years old, which means.Burt has overshot the mark by rather a lot.
It’s kind of funny reading the original strips and seeing how much Georgia’s art has evolved. Meanwhile I’m still the same can’t-even-draw-stick-figures person I’ve always been, LOL.
Awesome, time for a BCN history lesson of when Baba Mouse was a young reporter and we also have the return of Jules!!!!! I always wonder if he aggravates the cats with a French accent, ala the French taunter in Monte Python? Anyhow, another question; who is the distinguished reporter from 1979, a Scottish Manx cat?
I know there was some controversy when “Burt changed the lighting” to bring out Puck’s true colour, but I think “Inky Puck” is a definite improvement, with clearer and more varied facial expressions than during his “grey phase”.♥
I could tell by the way my cats were acting that we had a fly in the house yesterday, even though I couldn’t see it. Candy actually caught it when it landed on the window. She was playing with it so I went to get a tissue to get rid of it, but when I came back Candy was licking her chops and there was no more fly. Gross! I shudder to think what would happen if we had a July bug!
OT: I finished reading “Giblet and Belle”. What a cute book! I wish I hadn’t read it so fast though. It was over way too soon. I think Belle may be the next Mrs. Murphy. Congratulations Robert!
O.T. From Georgia yesterday on facebook “Last week marked nine years since Lupin joined our family! Forever unpredictable, brave, active (overactive lol), and clever, we love him so much! We cannot believe he is almost ten, his energy is still very much that of a kitten. He can be a challenge to live with sometimes. I joke he behaves more like a raccoon or a monkey than a cat. In the same way, sometimes he is the easiest cat to live with, because he has a way of tapping us and pointing to what he wants. A tap on the shoulder for pets, taps on the hand, taps on the head. Pointing toward the pantry for treats, pointing to a cat food can to hurry up and open it. He is an exceptionally strange, friendly, intelligent cat and we love him so much.”
Just got some wonderful mews: One of our rescued ferals, Pi (Agent 3.14) is being sent to Orphans of the Storm for adoption! Local Animal Control got him, and apparently once the hormones wore off he turned into another sweetie Pi. They called us, and because we already have three, we “relinquished” him, which allows him to be formally adopted by someone else. Agent 3.14 has had his classification changed from “Licensed to Roam” to “Licensed to Purr,” and will be infiltrating and taking over his furever home soon.
‘79, went back a little too far there Burt. Try the ’90s. Although if she started out at Bea’s age then you might want to consider looking in the late ’80s too.
Sebastian will be following his brother, Vlad, soon enough. Took him to the vet yesterday and he got a full blood work up. High liver enzymes. He’s scheduled for an ultrasound Monday. As long as he’s with me, he’ll be more spoiled than before (if that’s even possible). Oopsie has known for a long time, why else why let Sebastian win the wrestling matches that they’ve had.
Ot: Whats everybody reading? I just finished listening to Auora Burning – Its a space opera about a band of misfits trying to save the galaxy it twas quite dramatic and man that ending …

Hey Jules, now don’t be bad
Take a still night and make it breezy
Remember to let your bzzz-ing start
Then you can dart and bug cats easily
Hey Bea, don’t be annoyed
You were made to jump up and chase him
The minute you let him under your skin
Then you know it’s time to displace him
And even though you are a pain, hey Jules, explain,
How you can fly with that scarf upon your shoulders
For well you know we love a dude who acts all cool
By making his style a little bolder
So wear it out and wear it in, hey Jules, begin,
We’re a-waiting your performance
And don’t you know that it’s just you, hey Jules, yoo-hoo
The movement we need is you, before we get much older
Hey Jules, you’re not so bad
Take a hot night and make it cooler
Remember, avoid Bea to save your skin
Then you’ll begin to make summer
Better better better better better better, oh
Na na na nananana, nannana, hey Jules…
[repeats for awhile then fades, like warm July days]
