Mr. Johnson is returning to simpler themes although Iām not really sure Iād be soaking my feet in the low spot of my yard but then again we do live in different worlds.
Based on her dialogue in the last panel, Janis intended the low spot be filled. Arlo, always the romantic, heard āsomethingā and came to a different conclusion. Unless their soil has a very high clay content or there is a very high water table, the āwater featureā will be short lived, but return every time rainfall is adequate. I used to live on 11 very porous acres in the country with a draw that became a creek in times of high rainfall (every few years here in South Texas). I always intended to ādo somethingā along the lines of improving a trail down to the low spot and stacking some rocks to sit on, but alas my back gave out and we moved to town.

My low spot only fills with water in the winter. My kids used to skate on it when they were little.

It all started with a wistful comment by Janis and Arloās imagination to fulfill it. Working together, LOVE can do that!

If Janis had something specific in mind, she should have done it. I think Arlo did a great job. Iām sure that Ludwig is ecstatic with a rotisserie.
