Everything is click bait, nowadays. Everything. And it doesn’t matter if you’re viewing leftist media or right wing media. It’s all just click bait. And nothing baits a click better than a “sky is falling” headline.
if its the Times you know its all a lie sad to see a once great paper reduced to the status of the Weekly World News…on the plus side they can report what bat boy has been up to
“We’re all going to die” has been the message for years. Population Bomb, Global Cooling, Y2K, Global Warming. Anything to promote fear. And many lap it up.
The NYT are really annoying with their subscription urging. I’m sooo close to auto-ban all social media accounts that provide a link to their articles.
I will say this for the NYT and WaPo. I’ve known them to print retractions, admit they were wrong, and apologize for errors or misinformation. I’ve never seen that happen in certain other publications and media outlets. I’ll call no names as that just upsets people.
It’s announced the world will end tomorrow because of a giant meteor/comet……………..
NY Post headline: “AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!”
NY Daily News headline: “YEEEEEEEKKKK!!!”
NY Times: “WORLD TO END TOMORROW; WOMEN, MINORITIES, CHILDREN TO SUFFER THE MOST: How Trump Is To Blame; Biden Proclaims $10 Trillion Program To Stop Meteor and Feed Aliens; COVID-19 Cases and Deaths Still On Increase Thanks To Republicans……………..”
Mr. Pastis: You’re really stirring things up lately! But I agree – the NYT needs improvement. Like most newspapers, it only appeals to half the people in the USA. Too bad they can’t just report the news without political and ideological bias and without leaving out things that might cast aspersions on their party of choice ( And yes, both sides do it).

The news seems to be one sided and only seems interested in using it as a mouthpiece instead of telling the facts.
