There’s “Good Boy”… to “Very Good Boy”, to “Goodest Boy”.

Not to mention you can work your way up from 12/10 to possibly becoming a 15/10 one day, Roscoe!

The local pet store runs a promotion every month or so in which they bring pound animals to the store and offer them for adoption. If I recall correctly, they also offer a lottery to the folks who adopt, and one of them gets the fees waived.

But I don’t suppose Roscoe knows or would care.

Goodness, he’s still down in the dumps. Somebody love on that dog!

Aww we all love you sweetie…

There is no higher status than dog. No promotion needed.

In a sense, there some dogs who get promotions: Growlithe into Arcanine as well as Snubbull into Granbull.

Will Rogers said, “When I die, if there are no dogs in Heaven, I want to go where they go.”

Roscoe, don’t wish to be someone you are not. You are perfect just the way you are.

My dogs get promotions.They start as “Puppy” then they are “Bouncy youngster” then “Dog” and finally if they’re recognized and accepted by their peers: “Alpha.”

Count your blessings, Roscoe! If you were a Golden Retriever you would have long hair and have many groomer trips, and Opal would complain about you shedding hair!

Yellowstone posted a list of dumbest tourists’ questions. One is “how old does a deer have to be to become an elk?”

Roscoe is already Top Dog in the house.

Roscoe needs to be promoted to belly rubs first class, with meritorious scritches.

Roscoe why would you want to be on the same level as Earl ?

Roscoe is perfect just as he is!

Could be worse, Roscoe, you could be one of those stray dogs on the street that ends up being rounded and taken to animal shelters!

He’s the alpha…

You can go from being a street dog to a pampered pet. We have two of those.

All we ever had were mutts. All loved.

I could not have said it better.

Poor Roscoe. As the saying goes, “if you’re not the lead dog, the view never changes.”

So sad.

The average Golden Retriever’s lifespan is only nine years nowadays. Be glad you’re a dog of many breeds!

Look at the bright side, Roscoe – at least you’re a real dog, and not some annoying, nasty, yapping little rat “dog”.

Ah Roscoe – I would definitely give you a good scratching between the ears.

When our dog looks at me with those loving eyes, I wonder what he is thinking!

Where is cmerb, and how much did he pay Brian to do today’s strip ?

Pry his eyelids open, put his head in a vice and facing the TV, and make him watch Dog Competition Shows for a couple of days.

Self awareness can be a depressing thing.

They need to pay more attention to Roscoe and not just use him as a towel …
