Just how long has Tiffany been having this dormitory now? (I agree, a shower doesn’t seem relaxing when there’s no tub.)

It’s a give and take world, Tiffany. The dorm seems to be okay, but the dorm room doesn’t. It takes some getting used to, but I don’t think I could ever like Tiffany’s situation.

The disappointments with life in a quad dorm are piling up. Yet other aspects of life among the other Hall A denizens are appealing and enriching. Somewhere she is approaching critical mass. Which way will this go? Will she work to improve her quad life? Or will she seek other digs?

Gross! I’d avoid that shower until some Lysol Shower Foamer has been all over it.

Well, this shower stall looks better than the dorm suite I lived in. All brown tiles on all walls and floor, Gloomy looking stall.

Perhaps if she had someone to share the shower with and make it a more enriching experience. Of course, it is a little cramped in there. 8^ )

A quad dorm with a shower? Back in the day, the bathrooms were down the hall…

I would think that a quad dorm room would have a shared central bathroom with, perhaps, two shower and two commode stalls. But then. my experience is with male dorms.

Earth to tiffany, in what college dorm are you gonna find a bathtub big enough to fit the entire cheer squad?

Why did Tiffany think about taking a hot bath at all, it’s like she has never been in a dorm - especially this dorm - before.

Dorm life does have it’s drawbacks; my dorm had showers for forty…and no it wasn’t the penitentiary…ever hear “hardship builds character”?

I told you before, go back to the mansion, that bedroom is as pleasant as a toothache.

What’s the point of the small candles? Wouldn’t there be a bit too much steam/vapor to provide enough oxygen for a fire?

I still don’t get why she doesn’t think about going in the car and going home for the weekend. Or shoot, just for a bath . It’s not too far.

Tiff, dorm life has it drawbacks as you are finding out. You have a mansion all to your self.

She’s lived in the dorm how long? And doesn’t remember there is “just” a shower?

Ah reality intrudes. Choices, social life in dorm, or boredom and loneliness in mansion. Tiff is lonely, poor little rich girl. Hmmm, what to do.

The second panel makes it look like Tiffany is disappointed to find that there is no tub in the Quad. But why should she be surprised? IIn her first year she started out living in some kind of single apartment, but it came with (only) a shower, Tiffany was satisfied with that back them, Latter she shared a room with Stef where the bathroom was down the hall and and those were only showers. And she has been in the quad at least for more than one night so she should have been aware that the quad does not come with a shower. So why was Tiffany expecting a bathtub? Maybe she was making a compare and contrast with living at home but GnK did not make that reference at all.

It’s a lot more relaxing than some dang hippie telling you how to relax.

I’m curious about the age range of readers, here. I’ll start. I’m 66. How about you?

I haven’t had a bath in 50 years.

Move out the dorm Tiff

Tiff has the luxury of time in the dorms a few days a week and the mansion the other days. She has little to complain about.

Taking a shower is also nice. Sure, you can’t lie down for hours in a bubble bath, but the feeling of warm water falling on you is really good. You also waste less water. Fortunately, the last to use the shower seems to have been Dez. She has definitely cleaned after use it. Stefi probably doesn’t do it.

After yesterday a lot of us thought she would be plotting revenge. She should be! Hopefully she has a clean towel available.

Does Tiffany Farrell do laundry? Who supplies Tiffany with towels?

Didn’t Tiff already have to contend with communal bathrooms after moving to her shared dorm with Stef before?

I hope she bought a new towel.

Tiff needs to go back to her mansion by herself! She can always come back for excitement on campus but have her quiet and luxury accommodations! Won’t happen bec this story arc goes poof and up and way.

HOW long has she been living there and she didn’t know that they don’t have a bathtub? Is this the first time she’s been in their bathroom?

As far as dormitory bathrooms go, that is par for the course with 2 bedroom suites or apartments for 4 students. It is a heckuva lot better than the old communal bathrooms with several toilet and shower stalls for 30 to 40 students which, while they were cleaned daily on weekdays by university staff, could get real nasty on the weekends depending on who lived on the floor, particularly the male floors where one could find trash, vomit, beers cans, and pizza boxes all over the place and perhaps even a passed out student in one of the toilet or shower stalls.

The ladies look like they have been keeping their shower stall pretty clean. Chances are they get custodial help with this but not daily, this was one of the staff cutbacks that happened when the old communal baths disappeared; no more weekday cleanings Monday to Friday. I know my daughter’s 4 person, 2 bedroom apartment at FSU used to have weekly cleaning but this semester it was trimmed back to a cleaning once every 2 weeks due to staffing shortages (no one wants to clean toilets for $12/hour with minimal benefits) so the ladies have to do some of the cleaning themselves though FSU Housing promises that this will change in the spring as they are hiring new staff at $16/hour with expanded benefits (I think better health care and 3 weeks vacation, some sick time and day care privileges). This exact scenario is true at the local USF dorms here in Tampa as well. Its tough to get these custodial positions filled unless you offer decent coin.

Anyhow, a bit of advice to Tiff: wear flip flops in the shower unless you just cleaned it yourself.

How good is that shower going to feel? Noone is there to interrupt. The simplest pleasures in the hardest environments are the ones we all remember.

I am proudly from Alabama. And not that it is anyone’s business but my home is large and likely worth much more than yours. We’ve traveled widely in the US and sadly seen poverty everywhere. No need to make fun of a particular state anymore.

This isn’t quite the plan I thought Tiffany had in mine when I made my comment yesterday. She’s going to have to come up with something, though, or that toady little skank in the cheer leader get up will continue to use her for a door mat for as long as she wants.

At least the strip went down to being… G-rated again.

I think she’s unhappy with her dorm life and will probably soon be heading back home. It’s a shame it was so bad for her. I hope she will still visit often. Dorm living can be an adjustment! Of course I, coming from a small trailer with zero privacy and space, was THRILLED to only be sharing a bathroom with only three other girls. I LOVED my dorm space!!!!
