There is a BBC clip of a Korean expert being interviewed over a video link a few years back (early adopter, way pre-Covid). His little kids came romping in and an Asian woman came running in grab them. He was a Korean expert, fluent speaker of Korean, lived in Korea… but commentators assumed she was the nanny. Turned out she was his wife and a highly qualified professional. Things never change, assumptions.

With regard to JJ, I think it’s important to remember that she is to some degree damaged goods, having been abandoned by her mother. There’s a through-line.

Ok, I cheated a bit and looked at the “art”. This comic is from Dec. 13, 1996 and actually predates the one that we saw recently of Alex not getting a good Christmas present. The actual proposal was on a Sunday so we won’t see that but the “art” itself debuted on April 14, 1997. I’d say that it was fugly but that would be praising it. At least it’s really large though, as promised!
