How chilly does it get where Luann lives? Is she somewhere in the inland empire or elsewhere in So Cal that gets a lot colder than Orange County or most of LA?
When I was young, the home town of one set of Grandparents had a routine Memorial Day parade. It ended up at the main gate of the cemetery, where many politicians gave speeches.
So, we’re playing “Spot The Differences” today. Well, first, Puddles is not on the leash, then the stuffed elephant that was on Shannon’s right is now on Shannon’s left, the yellow teddy bear in the back of the wagon was facing Shannon’s right, now facing left. Not really sure about that stuffed dog and bird in the middle of the wagon, though. Did I miss any?
Puddles? WHERE IS PUDDLES???? Oh no… The Saint Valentine’s Day Tragedy! Luann must run to find him ASAP, ask for help from her friends. JACK CAN FIND HIM!!!
Man people go dark so soon. The dog slipped his leash. So of course it is Shannon’s fault.
The dog is dead! So of course it is Shannon’s fault.
My dog had to pee in the snow today. So course it is Shannon’s fault.
look, Luann got up to put on a jacket and go outside. Before she could, Shannon returned. The dog escaped within a minute or 2. Blaming Shannon is like blaming every parent who’s kid wandered off in a store in the blink of an eye. most often recovered safe and sound at the courtesy desk. The kid is the parent’s responsibility, sure, but s—t happens.
But please do pile on the blame ASAP. Some of you will have a stroke if you don’t.
Hmmm I do see how it seems that Puddles might have run away accidentally when Shannon came back in. So hoping he’s okay. This would be traumatic in the extreme. I too remember Farley’s heroic death in For Better or Worse. Not here please.
Just imagine what they’ll have to deal with when this child with no limits turns 15. Poor Puddles. I hope he’s ok. Luann should have known not to take her eye off this kid for one second.
“Valentime”? Either Shannon has a speech impediment that really needs to be addressed, or Greg has forgotten how fast kids grow up and is writing this 6-7 year old like she’s about 4.
“Too cold”?! It’s 10-20 degrees above average this week where that stupid groundhog lied to us again this year! It’s 67 degrees today, it’ll be 72 tomorrow, I’m pissed! I honestly can’t remember the last time we had a normal February!
Oooh. I had a really bad minute there before I realized that Greg won’t let anything happen to Puddles. Puddles might get lost and a phone call comes from a cute guy or maybe if he did somehow get hurt maybe a cute veterinarian would enter Luann’s life and make him all better. Either way, Shannon will not be punished. She is, after all, the little angel who made a valentine for Puddles and then completely forgot about him and left him out in the cold. I hate Shannon. I had actually started to like her after yesterdays strip but now she’s back to being her selfish little brat self who deserves some serious punishment. I know I will get hammered for this but she is the type of child who benefits from a really good spanking.
Adios to Puddles!!!! Dog is old and does not contribute much to the strip. Delta’s gone, Aaron Whatsisface is gone and now the dog! More focus on the central characters. I won’t miss the dog at all if he is gone.
I’m hoping Greg didn’t notice all those people who kept asking why Puddles was still alive after all these years. I kept responding that in the time frame of the strip he was only about 6 or 7 years old and I hope Greg realizes that as well.
Shannon the Brat may be acting more like a three- or four-year-old rather than the six-year-old she is, but for once her behavior is practical. Stay indoors!

Greg crossed the line. Mere suggestion that the most beloved character, Poodles, could be harmed at the hands of the most despised character, Shannon.
