“Let’s put an almighty beef patty in front of those happy little clouds, and… there. Now then, let’s take the fan brush and add some happy little lettuce, tomato, and cheese… right there. Mmm mmm. Now with the round brush, I’m gonna give this burger a top half of the bun, and then… and then, so he’s not lonely, we’ll give him the bottom half of the bun because everyone needs a friend, even a burger bun. Now comes the fun part: we just wash the brush in odorless paint thinner, shake it off, beat the devil out of it, and give multi-color freckles to the camera crew. I highly, highly, recommend you do this in a waste paper basket with a brush beater rack. It’ll save your happy home and your marriage. Okay, we’ll take the liner brush, dip it in some paint thinner, and make some ‘hwite’ paint as thin as ink, and add some sesame seeds to that bun. I think we got ourselves a finished painting, so we’ll sign this painting and with that, I want to wish you happy painting and God bless.”
Sadly, the starvation diet appears to be a current popular diet in which one cuts the daily intake of calories in half (e.g., 600 instead of the 1200 considered necessary to sustain life) or fasts. Obviously person can lose weight this way, but it may not be the kind of weight that one can afford to lose. Because the body isn’t provided with the fuel it needs to function properly, the metabolism slows down and muscles, bones, organs, water mass, etc. have to do with less. Loss of muscle mass means reduced strength and endurance. Reduced water mass can lead to dehydration. Reduced bone mass (density) can make one more prone to injury and can lead to osteoporosis. Reduced organ mass can mean a reduction in their abilities to function properly, which can result in a plethora of health problems.
why are foods we craved in our youth, do come to haunt us in our dotage? Whatever childhood we be in it is best served by the deliciousness of cheese on that there hamburger; maybe double doses of cheese for what ails you.
I know that it’s not the case today, but one thing I’d like to see is Whatchamacallit spun off into its own strip so Non Sequitur can become solely a single panel strip.

At least he didn’t paint a can of tomato soup. That would add insult to injury.

You never realize how many commercials there are for restaurants and fast-food joints there are on TV until you are on a diet.
