That’s some mighty STIFF ice cream to hold together that many for that long!
Note that hexagons can tile the plane. Not very interesting. With pentagonal faces, though, you can make a regular dodecahedron (12 faces) which is more interesting to me … partly because 12-sided dice allow for some fun games.
Knowing Amend’s expertise in math and physics, I tried to figure out what kind of polyhedron this was. It wasn’t easy, but a truncated icosahedron is the closest I could get. That has 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons, for a total of 22 faces. I only count about half that number, but the ratio looks close to right between the two types. And we can always assume the back half of the figure was hidden in shadow…Bill: am I close?
Because after years of watching you build ever more ridiculous ice cream cones, you’ve managed to make them increasingly ridiculous WHILE remaining perfectly stable, Paige. That’s why.

There’s even more to Paige’s “genius” – after she completes it, she’s going to make it collapse perfectly while making it disappear.

More importantly, has Paige considered what that is going to do to her waistline? (Or does she have her older brother’s metabolism?)
