Well you should be half right. You should be Odie’s master because dogs have masters but not Garfield’s because cats have staff. But Odie has lived too long with Garfield’s influence so he won’t be mastered either.

Funny thing is that Jon reminds me of my brother. My brother thinks he is the master of his dog but actually the dog is his master.

I’m guessing that the first few panels was a flashback to Jon’s childhood, and the last panel showed him reading this report to Garfield and Odie, which they got a kick out of.

So did Jim farm out US Acres to Jon?

I remember the fact that Jon is a cartoonist came up quite often in the Garfield and Friends cartoon, but it almost never comes up here in the comic.
