Hope Hobbes doesn’t get jealous if he finds out Calvin has been talking to the neighborhood dogs.

When the local coyotes set up a nice howl, I’m always tempted to howl along. And have a couple of times so do the neighborhood dogs. When the local wolves set up a howl, however, I just go inside. So do the neighborhood dogs.

A night or two in the doghouse should curb that.

Could be dognappers are on the loose and the network is passing along the message, “Be on the Lookout”.

I suspect Hobbes had something important, or insulating, to get on the Twilight Bark. Don’t kill the messenger.

Don’t they lock the doors at night. Perhaps a dead bolt that Calvin can’t reach should be installed.

Neighbours worked nights. They had 4 dogs. A collie mix an three chihuahuas. . Slightest thing would set them off. 2,3 4 o’clock in the morning, waking us up. I tried. Asking them to put them up at night. Nothing. Got to a point that after they got home, I’d wait a while, and then go out in my yard and start barking, setting them off. after about a month of this, they put them inside at night.

I would do this as a kid. I would howl like a wolf and try to get the dogs to howl. “Arrr-rooooo.”

We had that situation for a while. I didn’t know whether I wanted to shoot the dog or shoot the neighbor.

Either one of them would have made me a hero with the other neighbors.

    Fortunately, I have a lot of self-control.

Sheep have conversations. Well, tones and coughs. It doesn’t take much to set them off. Too bad if you live close to the market.
