I knew Tracy was very good at hand-to-hand combat. I still think that Ro-Zan will get a big can of whoop a** from his blindside. It might not be from Honeymoon or Mystra, but it is coming.
The solar plexis hit was solid but that one to the back of the head just might be lights out for Rozy. Tomorrow would be a good time for Tezzy to show up and get popped by Mysta.
Great action strip, & a little ironic a high-tech sci-fi story climaxes in a good old-fashion hand to hand brawl. But when, exactly, did RoZan specifically threaten Tracy’s family?
Just kind of weird art today. As noted above, proportions are odd. And Tracy’s face is different, and I mean different from even how it’s been different. If that makes sense.
ain’t much of a knock-down drag-out… Dick is obviously the better here… the dumbfounded look on Ro in panel three shows that he realizes he messed with the wrong Dick… good for you, Dick, you may proceed with the ass-kicking…
I once knew a British police sergeant, brilliant bloke who was quite mild mannered and never vindictive even while taking a strong line over the law. He had the respect of most of the local villains as well as the community at large. But one time one of the crims “suggested” that he knew where the sergeant’s family lived. I have never seen someone so mild and friendly become so coldly angry, I was genuinely terrified at the transformation as was the crim who realised he had just stepped across a line that can NEVER be crossed. Police are used to being threatened; it comes with The Job. But threatening family is something else entirely.
Tracy drops Ro-Zan like a bad habit. The trusty trench coat is no impediment to dodging and striking. Great action. The ring reflected back the armsmens’ attack, making for a climactic Mano-a-Mano face-off. Unlike Tracy, Ro-Zan was not up to the challenge. Dirt nap for the xenophobe. As Sly &the Family Stone say, it’s a “Family Affair” (There’s a Riot Goin’ On (1971)).
For a story that started out pretty long and boring and despite the easy and convenient use of Bribery’s ring to subdue the rebels, this story redeems itself with great action and tension at the end. The usual illogical and irrelevant events of the story are still there and everybody guessed Tracy would use the ring when he first said he was going to New Moon Valley so no surprise when he did, but this action here is excellent and well presented.
Zo-Ran: “Threaten your family? Wait – you got me all wrong! All I wanted to do was take over the Earth!” Tracy: “Take over the Earth? Oh… well, that’s different. (Hey, while you’re at it, there’s a mayor I wouldn’t mind you giving a hard time to…)”
This message board is hopping with Dick Tracy fans, each contributing with something to say about the Dick Tracy comic strip! This is terrific! Best to all!
So last night when I left work I discovered that my headlights decided they didn’t want to work, not even the high beams…so I had to drive home with my hand on the directional pulling it towards me so I could keep the lights on…I dropped the car off at the mechanic this morning before I got to work and let him know the situation…the mechanic is literally across the street from my job…and he called me back about two hours or so later and said they couldn’t fix it because it wasn’t Well…..it ain’t just the bulbs, turns out there was a recall on my car because of the headlights so the mechanic couldn’t fix it (but he said that if it turned out that it WASNT part of the recall, the part that needed to be fixed costs $700!) So I called the dealership I got my car from and because it is a Ford/Mercury….they couldn’t take it and they transferred the call to the Ford dealership right behind them…after talking to the service department I now have to wait til September 16th to get my headlights repaired
There, now. That wasn’t so hard, was it, Tracy? And it was so satisfying! Ro-Zan will stay DOWN if he’s even a little bit smart, or Tracy will really vent his anger and thrash the daylights out of him!
Nice action strip today, though the depictions are a bit awkward….

Action is fine, a good old fashion street brawl.
Something’s been up with Shelley’s drawing the past couple of days.
Today Tracy’s face is way out of proportion to his body in panels 2 & 4. It almost looks like a poor cut and paste.

Tracy clearly doesn’t have the ring on today.
Did he have to return it?

1-BRO-ZAN: As I’m rather cross at the moment, I’ll open with a RIGHT CROSS! Get it, Tracy? Oh – you got it all right!
2-…Followed by my patented LEFT HAYMAKER! HEY! YOU DIDN’T DUCK THE FIRST PUNCH! CHEATER!
DT: MISSED ME! NOW YOU GOTTA KISS ME! You oughta call it THE FAN because all it does is PROVIDE A NICE BREEZE!
3-DT: I call this one WHITE OR WHEAT because it gets delivered TO YOUR BREAD BASKET!
4-…Followed up with a CAR WAX AND SOFT TOWEL because it POLISHES YOU OFF!
