    Good morning™, everyone!

The law is the law. The governor has no choice, but he did finally get the council to agree not to execute Hy Jacky, back on the Moon, so there’s always a possibility of an exception.

I for one, hope to see more of the Lunarian characters. My favorite childhood characters. I am 63 years old now. I grew up in the Moon Maid era. Glad to see them back.

Have to execute him; too much of a threat with too many connections there…..or else Tracy can take him back and stick him in the Supermax….

    Good morning™, disagreeable philosophies !

Heh-vveey. I am with the Gov on this one. The whole thing is clear and Ro-Zan’s prime suspect rating insures they will not condemn an innocent man. Tracy is who he is and Thorin is who he is. Hard to put Tracy’s position down but sometimes you just can’t take chances.

Rozan was a killer with no conscience and Tracy has a conscience. But I think that Rozan should face the judgement of that jurisdiction and Tracy should not think of himself as an executioner.

Ro-Zan’s genesis towards evil seems to stem from being exposed to an unhealthy amount of The Honeymooners re-runs, from his early childhood. He should have been watching I Love Lucy, instead.

Despite my feelings on the matter, The New Moon Valley authorities have the right and responsibility to deal with Ro-Zan according to their law. While it may seem barbarous to me, and tor Tracy, he’s a guest in their world. I feel he’s done a good job expressing his opinion, and probably still is wary of Thorin; but he’s also about law and order.

It is what you are supposed to do with lowlifes like them, we fought, and won a whole world war over it and gave them what they deserved for their crimes. If they didn’t learn their lesson the last time, it’s time to school them accordingly!

DT: I’ve never had to be my own luggage handler on a flight before. THOR-IN: Welcome to LUNAR AIRLINES – a subsidiary of Spirit!

2-DT: Do I have to fly the freakin’ plane too?

3-THOR-IN: Don’t be ridiculous. You can’t fly from your seat in the wheel well!

    DT: Whew! That’s a relief.

Like so many Earth crooks,Roz-an thought he’d never get caught;so why worry?Start worrying, buddy.

I think that whole “Victor Buono lookalike” thing was just so we could see if the new artist could draw B.O. andGertie right(she did).

With winter coming up,it’s time for the real test—a ChesterGouldian blizzard.

Over at the Dick Tracy Fan Club, Mike Curtis has posted, expressing disappointment that no one seemed to notice that Ro-Zan was named after the pompous Kryptonian official who pooh-poohed Jor-El’s warnings that Krypton was doomed in the first tv episode of The Adventures of Superman from the 1950s. I actually did notice that, but didn’t comment. I wish to rectify that, and as my civic duty, to show that I did notice, point out that Ro-Zan goes back even further to the first episode of the 1940 Superman radio show. You can listen here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADGWJjIvM4E

    Ro-Zan starts talking at 2:27.

Since this is late in the day, I’ll repost this when tomorrow’s strip comes on, so more people will notice.

Putting aside the fact that Tracy has fatally shot numerous criminals throughout his carrier, he wouldn’t be the executioner here. He’s a cop who captured a criminal. It’s up to the court system to issue sentencing. Tracy can voice his opinion of what that should be, but the final decision is not up to him. Given the fact that Ro-Zan committed murder and was planning genocide a death sentence is to be expected.

For everyone’s information, Mike Curtis posted something very interesting on the Dick Tracy Facebook group. He pointed out that Ro-Zan (the name of Jor-El’s adversary in the original Superman TV series) was not Mysta’s first sexual encounter in the strip. She also had relations with Denny Colt (the Spirit).

Mike also made a post on this board yesterday on a different subject.

Not Tracy’s call… Not his jurisdiction. He did his “Consulting” job. Time to step on board the ride home and let the laws of the Lunatics…er…Lunatarians…take over.

Not always, Dick. Japanese children learn a substantially different history of WWll than the one our kids learn. Textbooks around the world tell history that we and other nations would consider incorrect. As Henry Ford famously said, “History is bunk.”

Ro-Zan is a traitor. Ro-Zan is a murderer. Ro-Zan is unrepentant. The laws of New Moon Valley apply here.

Execute the scum! Whether by Zapping Squad or by Lava Bath, execute him. It is the law and it is the right thing to do, regardless of Tracy’s misgivings. Tracy has been associating with the soft-on-crime-and-criminals gang for too long a time.

Let Tracy and his kith and kin return to Tracyville, courtesy of Thorin’s Space Coupe shuttle, and be done with NMV for now at least….

After all, Tracy operates in a jurisdiction (the US, we don’t know about Tracyville specifically) that uses the death penalty, after most “civilized” countries have abandoned it.

“We learned that murderers die for there crimes / Even if we make a mistake sometimes.” —Tom Paxton, a few lines from the song “What Did You Learn in School Today”
