The funeral was ordinary but the reception is excellent.

I’m going to be waiting for the Seattle Mariners to make the World Series if kills me.

This pair are having just far too much fun …

Fair weather, cooler, beer, munchies, tv — what’s not to like? A way to honor both a pal and tradition.

A very nice way to remember your friend. Too bad he’s not in a mausoleum where you could include him during bad weather, too.

The grave of beloved Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas has two pairs of seats from Veterans Stadium next to it, set up where people can sit next to the grave and watch the Schuylkill River while smoking a “heater” (what Harry called a cigarette – he smoked Parliaments).

It was nice of his pals to continue to include him, even after his demise. That is pushing loyalty a bit too far though.

That would be an awesome way to honor a friend who had recently passed.

Some people put the fan in fanatical. I’ll bet the dearly departed would appreciate the effort, if he had put any effort into it.

They should have sprinkled his ashes at the park.

I was in College in Connecticut in the mid 80’s. The 85 world series was KC against St louis. the three kids from Missouri were all excited. The next year it was the NY Mets against the Red sox. 70% of the school was from NY, MA or CT. There were 4 of us on my hall, 2 new Yorkers, 2 bostonians and the guy next door had a color TV so we’d all gather there through the play offs and the WS.

Wiley has a really strange sense of humor, One I have liked reading since this strip first came out.

Reminds me of that episode of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ when Marshall went to visit his father’s grave and have a private moment, and it turned into a Vikings tailgate party at his grave site — which Marshall later admitted is what his father would have wanted anyway.

Who’s the lucky stiff?

MLB has a ways to go before it can match the NBA for playoffs. If they would adopt the NBA model, the World Series might conflict with the Superbowl.

I’m sure there are sports nuts in the USA who actually do this.

the grave of Ray Chapman in Cleveland(only player to be killed by a pitched ball) still gets plenty of visitors and baseballs left at the site.

Can’t break tradition.
