Cryptocurrencies are a poncy scheme. Last one in holds the bag. There is zero intrinsic value. It’s only value is what the next sucker will pay

Cryptocurrency is the same as the Emperor’s New Clothes. No one understands but afraid to say anything for fear of looking stupid. Anyone who would buy into that is stupid, more so if persuaded by celebrities who promoted it.

Cryptocurrencies – Do you really think it wise to “invest” in monetary instruments that are promoted and utilized in the main by grifters, criminals, tin-hat paranoids, financial “trendies,” and the government of El Salvador?

What the good doctor described is actually a blockchain. Cryptocurrency is an application of a blockchain. Blockchain is a very interesting concept and can be very useful. Cryptocurrency, however,… i have my doubts.

I did have anesthesia a couple of weeks ago. The anesthesiologist asked if I was ready. I said yes, and he started the drip in the IV in my wrist.

I told him, “Hey I can feel it; it’s cold.” “It’s at my wrist.” “It’s at my elbow,” “It’s at my shoulder.” “It’s at my neck,” “Good night!”

Recall the old saying: “You can fool all of the people some of time; you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time”. Unless you start talking about “Crypto Currency”, Then, everyone starts believing you.

Ponzi Scheme ? Boy, imagine how many people want to be remembered and fail.

Along comes Charles Ponzi and he makes it into the history books and the popular jargon of civil and legal society. We should have a day just for Charlie. Ponzi Day.

On Ponzi Day everyone would try to pull a fast one on some rube.

Cryptocurrency, one of the worst ideas to come down the pike in decades. Not only ridiculously complicated and unstable, it’s horrible for the environment. If this is how the next gens are going to treat the planet, it’s doomed for sure.

    https://www.currentaffairs.org/2022/05/why-this-computer-scientist-says-all-cryptocurrency-should-die-in-a-fire/

NATHAN J. ROBINSON (Interviewer, Current Affairs Editor-in-Chief): Is it accurate to summarize what you were saying before as, essentially: There is no problem that cryptocurrency solves, and to the extent that it is functional, it does things worse than we can already do them with existing electronic payment systems. To the extent it has advantages, the advantage is doing crimes. And every other claim made for the superiority of cryptocurrency as currency falls apart if you scrutinize it.

PROFESSOR NICHOLAS WEAVER (Computer Scientist, Cryptocurrency Skeptic): Yes.
