For our non-Whovians it is a TARDIS which stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space.

Dr. Who never lands the Tardis in America since this one time he landed near a farmhouse in Kansas and the Tardis was mistaken for an outhouse.

every year we “fall” for concocted silliness not needed for a century and try to recover by springing forward and losing to insanity. there will be some who will be so out of touch they are early for work on Monday

The government has done a great brainwashing job with this DST nonsense, getting the public to think it saves energy or causes the Sun to set later. The “later” sunsets are a natural occurrence due to the tilting of the Earth on its axis. Resetting the time has absolutely nothing to do with it. DST does not make the days longer; it’s the natural phenomenon known as the change of seasons that creates this.

With DST people have merely been conned into getting up one hour earlier, which creates the illusion of a “longer day.” This antiquated procedure serves no purpose and should have been abolished decades ago. Yet people still blindly follow this practice every March so their magic clocks can make the days longer.

Leave the clocks set on Standard Time (the true time). Those who wish to pursue that mythical “longer day” are free to get up an hour earlier during the spring and summer months, if that is so important.

I watched Doctor Who on SciFi channel while I had a cable package. Watching the show, it’s intriguing to imagine traveling like that through time, but you can’t help wondering if you’d be clever enough to survive being a companion of the Doctor. After I dropped cable completely, and basically stopped watching ‘TV’ of any kind, that was the only show I truly missed. It checked all of the entertainment boxes for me, including that the dialogue was so well written it never required expletives and strong sexual references to distract the viewer from a bad script. If you have never seen the episode “Midnight” (10th Doctor, David Tennant), it was a psychological horror that was tightly written, and brilliantly directed and acted in a Twilight Zone styling that left me deeply impressed. I was fortunate enough here in the states to find past season DVDs of Doctor Who at my local library to watch when I was wanting a fix. I started following the series after it rebooted. It’s nearly a draw for me on whether I love the 10th or 11th Doctor best. That said, I could have easily enjoyed more of Chris Eccleston’s Doctor. His was too short a run. I also happen to believe that the throwback to an older, more mature Doctor Who with Peter Capaldi was a great change-up. Steven Moffat saw it as natural for the young-old 11th doctor to transform into the old-young 12th Doctor. After the sometimes goofy, very approachable, and easily lovable Matt Smith Doctor, Capaldi’s Doctor was more alien, aloof, and unpredictable, yet still ferociously protective of the human species. I’m kind of glad I haven’t seen anymore of Doctor Who since the “The Ghost Monument” (with Jodie Whitaker); maybe someday I’ll binge watch the series from the 13th Doctor on. :-)

I have a small village in our upstairs hall of bears (figurines, small toys, etc – varying from 1/2 inch to about 6 inches in height) in the left front corner of the main section of the village – next to the church is a strange dark blue police booth – yes, they don’t know, but somewhere among the bears is — Dr Who, who must be passing as a bear to be among them unnoticed with only his Tardis as something to notice. (We keep trying to figure out which bear should be him and how to make a small “screwdriver” for that bear.)

We have been watching since the show made its comeback. Did not like Jodie Whittaker. Though when she started – the prior repeat episodes into her episodes were a big help. Husband had hurt his back and needed something to watch continually on TV to keep his mind off his back – and that was the weekend that the episodes with her started.
