Piro still can’t get over his stage fright and Luann tries to help him. Luckily for Piro, Luann also understand that her help can be annoying to someone who is nervous and do some irony on herself. I like this awareness in Luann and Piro says he appreciates it too, that’s really nice! Let’s hope he can read his story. Surely Luann and Mrs Horner are rooting for him and maybe even Bernice, from the audience.

I’m sensing a growing annoyance coming from Mr. Walt here, where other fans seem to think that he’s warming up to Our plucky, fearless heroine.

To each her own, I guess.

But please remember one thing moving forward. Something I get told every time an average Joe in this Strip, goes out if his way to help one of the ladies:

Walt didn’t ask anyone for “help.”

That includes good-natured, good-hearted Luann.

And I still say he warmed up to Dez more than any other lady.

Piro is probably the most interesting comic character to date. Perhaps he deserves a spin off.

This is a great pairing! Luann is at her best when helping others, just don’t let him sleep in the back room at the Fuse and everything will be alright.

I really like this arc, I’ve felt for a long time Luann needs something that will be romantic, dramatic, fantastic, (can’t think of any more rhyming words) arc and the potential Walt/Piro and Luann relationship promises all that and a lot more. This is closest to a true, adult relationship that Luann may have (Bets and Gunther are going through another version of adult versus teenage still at home relationship stage that has been created in Luannverse up to now). Bring it on, and boy treat her right! You obviously like this sweet, doofus, smarter than she believes herself to be, super empathetic (as compared to her BFF; empathy is the issue I think Bern has trouble with, which is her problem if she really wants to be a shrink, or lawyer, both of which require various degrees of empathy) young woman, she makes you smile, lifts the veil of darkness around your wailing heart (what did I put in my dose of pain maintenance pot this morning, so poetic) but I predict this will be a really stormy, but in the long-run long relationship. As Rachel likes to say, “watch this space.”

That last panel looked like an apology. Lu, excited and nervous which causes her to ramble but she caught herself which Walt/Piro appreciated.
