God can appear like and sound like anyone; that is why people should " Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
Reminds me of the story where a person is resuscitated after a heart attack and says he saw God in heaven. The doctor asked him what God looked like and he replied, “Well, for one thing, she’s black.”
