While April does protest the bath, it is interesting to see the way her manners for serving tea to her guests like the bath duck overcome her reluctance to bathe. Good on Farley for spending so much time with April teaching her proper etiquette.
Funny thing….I don’t remember either of my kids going through that stage. But hey….that was 40 years ago so maybe my memories are now viewed through the rose-colored glasses of time.
I never minded baths as a kid, because me and my sister just played the entire time with toys! And yes, why would you want to get all cold after being warm???
We gave up giving our grandsons, ages 3 and 5 1/2, baths at our house. They were having so much fun we were worried about damaging the downstairs ceiling. Now they just play in the sandbox. Mom gets to worry about the bath part.
What’s in been now, two weeks and change since the much-loved Josef Weeder made his debut? I think I’d rather we’d stuck with him than with the drivel we’ve been getting since.
At least it’s a word. The kid that used to live next door to me would just scream every time she wanted anything. No words, just screaming. She wasn’t developmentally delayed (a miracle, considering her mother smoked like a chimney throughout her pregnancy), she just took after mom: Constant screaming. So glad they moved.

Those kinds of children make you wish you didn’t have them or had a lot of patience!

You’d be amazed at how many toddlers drown in the bath every year.

No. One of the first words kids learn but one of the last they understand.

Aww she is giving tea to her rubber duckie. I wonder if there is any relationship to Ernie’s little rubber duckie from Sesame Street.

The more you get of what you don’t necessarily want the more you end up wanting what you don’t necessarily need.

All small kids are the same. They don’t want to change what they are doing RIGHT NOW. Doesn’t really matter what you want them to do.

When I was about 12, a toddler lived next door to us. He would walk around his yard just saying “NO”.

Show my granddaughter water and you can’t keep her out of it.

Sounds like what my grandmother said “You hate that bed at night but you love that bed in the morning!”

I always loved bath time. Get to play in the water….get to be naked….what’s not to love?!

They must live in a place with lots of water! I haven’t had a bath like that in California for decades, if ever!

Probably April is bent upon making mom learn inertia, in is entirety. The listlessness of childhood is price less.
