Maybe Hobbes isn’t saying anything because he knows the definition of euphoria is the feeling wellness caused by taking drugs.

Maybe Calvin is seeking the right kind of happiness? Take me for example. I live alone, cook good food, enjoy soda and play all the video games I can!

Face it Calvin, you’re not getting the trillion billion dollars, space shuttle or private continent you asked for a few days ago.

Good luck, Calvin; because the only way that you’re going to find euphoria is in the dictionary!

Hobbes may be at a loss for words, but he is not at a loss for a dumbfounded look on his face.

That is actually good advice: Often saying nothing is better than saying something if the goal is to preserve a relationship. I wish my Starter Wife understood that.

Some people are manic-depressant. I’m just manic.

What I call depression, most people would call mild euphoria.

The key is: I don’t have to rule the world; I just have to keep it from ruling me.

    Proverbs 26:4-5

    4. Do not answer a fool according to his folly,

Or you will also be like him.

    5. Answer a fool as his folly deserves,

That he not be wise in his own eyes.

Used to be ‘silence is golden’ was a solid. Inflation and irritation have raised the bar to platinum, as in not enough of it.

Bet Calvin can think of a few words to end a so-called “friendship” that isn’t worth saving. A very few words. Maybe even a couple.

Well Ma’s out there, twitchin’ in the kitchen

Dad’s in the living room, fussin’ and a-b!tchin’

I’m out here, kicking the gong for…

    Euphoria!

    Euphoria -

    When your mind starts reelin’ and a-rockin;

Your inside voice starts squealing and squawking

Floatin’ around on a belladonna cloud, singin’…

    Euphoria!

Anything more than short-term euphoria can be addictive and you become completely non-productive. This was known as far back as the ancient Greeks who warned against the “lotus eaters”. The most rewarding euphoria comes from a challenge bested and a job well done.
