Many years ago my little sister, about 4yrs old, came racing down the stairs to breathlessly inform the rest of the family that her older sister was wearing big pair of glasses on her bosom. It was a training bra. Tru story!
They aren’t the most suitable things for wearing around the house. But a well made and well fitting one can be very becoming, and don’t necessarily show a lot of bust. I wear my laced leather corset with a soft shirt under it, and if I say so myself, it looks nice.
I like to think I’m a pretty enlightened parent, but I know I’m going to still do a double take when my daughter is old enough to wear things like this.
Three "an’"s in a row will not make up for throwing clothing borrowed from Candace on the floor. Good thing April is there to pick up after her and being a good Canadian girl, is familiar with knee protectors.
I think Liz’s wearing a bustier is pretty conservative when I remember some of the outfits (or lack thereof) that my daughter used to parade around the house in.
i one saw a scantily-clad young woman walking around the neighbourhood. i was tempted to ask her, ’Does your mother let you out of the house dressed like that?? Well, thank her for me!"
Just do what we always did Liz, wear it under you clothes then take the top layer off once you are out of sight of the house. You can also change in the car ( it helps if you and your friends take turns driving).
Don’t think John and Elly would protest if Michael was making a lot of money in a bad where he wore his grandfather’s mining helmet and called himself a construction worker. The band also had Brian Enjo as an Indian chief, Gordon as a sailor, and Lawrence in a leather biker outfit. They would be noted for such Canadian hits as YMC, Eh?
Now just need a name for the band. The Townsfolk? The City Dwellers?
Elizabeth learned Lesson #1: The Christian standard of decency.
Tomorrow we will see her parents yell at her about the ruined bustier that was Candace’s and how Elizabeth will have to pay for it. They will yell at her for Lesson #2: Has Elizabeth no respect for other people’s property?
I know Liz is a teenage girl and teenage girls needs to follow “trends” (trust me, I was one and wore skirts and shorts that barely met the “finger line”) but I have to agree with John on this one. She should not be wearing that.
gizmocat: hijab covers head/and face. no-one preposed that. that is just a lack of valuing women. if sexy means emphasing and bringing the eyes/gaze to the breast, then it is signalling to men to look at them. the definition of sexy (attractive for sex) – look in any dictionary, is something that if not just for a partner, specifically implies what I said in my previous comment. liz doesn’t understand the definition either, and thinks that she will attact only the attention of guys she is interested in, not guys she is not attracted to, but , as they say in marketing, sex sells. She can be pretty without selling sex, and as she is “under-age” her father is just doing his job. There is a fine line between sexy and pretty, but obvious revealing of breasts by clothing in the bustier is fairly clear cut, to pardon the pun. it’s called flaunting for a good reason. That’s why so many pop-stars, actresses, fasion mags, youtube thumbnails etc use it, it sells.

Personally, I agree with John. I don’t find that type of garment suitable for public exposure. It’s fine as an undergarment.

I went through the with my daughter and short shorts. The problem is, that’s all anyone sold. Even she wanted some shorts that were more practical.

If Elizabeth’s school imposes a dress code sounds like John and Elly are going to be for it.

She borrowed that from a friend, and she just drops it on the floor? What if Farley gets ahold of it?

If it’s borrowed from a friend don’t drop it on the floor.
