So far Hammie hasn’t had enough life experience to have learned that no matter how many people speak, or what they say, they darned well can be denied.
If dessert is served first it will potentially be a real letdown, going from the sweetest food to what I assume Hammie generally thinks tastes worse. Even when I was his age, I always worked my way around my plate in ascending order of how much I enjoyed any given component of the meal.
Sorry, Hammie, two “signatures” do not constitute a true petition, which is not legally binding anyway, particularly since both of the signers are still minors.
Over in today’s Calvin & Hobbes, we find that Calvin, like Hammie, is laboring under the delusion that there’s some kind of democratic process at work in the administration of the family.

Well, Hammie, tough luck. Parent’s law supersedes a petition.

Wanda should reference “Rose is Rose” September 28th 1994, for an excellent reason why you can’t have dessert first!

Silly Hammie! A family is not a democracy. Never was, never will.
