I actually like talking politics with people who don’t agree with me. I just make sure that I know my facts, and I focus on the point that I am trying to make & don’t get caught up in side issues. If they bring up something peripheral, I just say ‘Yeah, that’s a problem too’ and stay on target until I have made my point.

Start a hobby and then talk shop.

It’s hard to avoid politics when even an outbreak of measles is turned into a feast for anti-vaxxers (who have almost all been vaccinated but don’t want to protect their kids).

The only ironic part of the song “Ironic” (Alannis Morsette) is the fact that none of it is ironic.
