Dick Tracy takes a gander. He knows just who’s to blame

Croptop up to her old ways without regrets or shame.

Junior is looking good. We haven’t seen his artistic skills for a while. I don’t remember seeing this woman before. She might have been a customer at the bank. As we already noticed, Croptop’s “disguise” was not very good. Dick Tracy also looks good today.

Yeah, the disguise worked about well as expected.

Junior’s back and doing what he was always meant to do and should have been doing all these years…

Mike did SOMETHING right, for a change…

Great to see some actual detective work in the strip today! The question now is if Tracy gets to CropTop before CropTop gets to Scadol’s loot. Stay tuned.

When it comes to describing garb and physical features ya can’t beat a woman. Chuck is shining so bright today I had to get my welding helmet on to view it. Mikey has done surprisingly well too ! :-O

The suspect never expected the dog to be packing heat. I wonder what adaptations were necessary for use by an animal without opposable thumbs?

Wouldn’t the video from the bank supplied all those details? Banks in Tracyville haven’t upgraded technology since 1940 and have no security cameras? (Although I suspect that even in 1940 banks didn’t have piles of loose currency just sitting in the vault. The lack of exploding dye capsules has already been mentioned.)

Tracy, who relies heavily on coincidence for anything more difficult than finding his own rear end, should have known Blowtop was going to commit a crime the minute the newspaper ran the feature article.

Why did he need to be tipped off? Couldn’t he have started the investigation without this? Actually used facial recognition software for something? (I mean it’s fairly effective for white people, since white people did the programming it there are difficulties with people of color – they all look the same to the software.) Of course then we wouldn’t have the cameo by Junior. I like Junior, but wouldn’t mind an occasional reminder of reality.

How meta.

Gee. The sure was some breeelliant creeminals disguising as COVID era peoples. And them bank peoples was too cleverer too, ya knows they is save very lotsa money by not installing CCTV cameras. For they is knews how stoopid creeminals is in this place anyways.

Charles’ art today reminds me of Shawn McManus.

I got a feeling that Charles enjoyed drawing the eyewitness sketch, especially the start of the sketching.

Nice artworks by Carlos Magnifico again. Nice perspectives and attention to details. Even a table lamp switch and a used eraser. Only odd thing being it look like he drawing with only a regular pencil but picture is appears in full colour as if he use crayons colour pencils or sometheeng but none of those is seen anywhere.

Like there’s only ONE person who fits that description. Junior just happens to draw an exact likeness of the villain?

Well done today. Nothing to complain about (Rats!).

Other than Chucky’s obsession with super long fingers(Check out that witness index finger) a very acceptable day’s strip.

For some reason, The Chicago Tribune is printing rerun strips on Sundays instead of today’s strip. This is the second week they’ve done this and it’s irritating. Other print papers are running the correct strip but I’ve gotten reruns for 2 weeks in a row. I’m not happy.

The artistic skills Charles has is demonstrated in today’s strip. Masterful!!!

1-WITNESS: After the robbery, me and another bank customer were so relieved to have survived that we had sex in the bank restroom. His excited “thing” was just this long. JUNIOR: WOW! I never knew they got that big!

2-…OK. So Tracy had me draw this from someone’s mug shot so you just have to describe their kerchief.

3-WITNESS: Hmmm. I thought it was a beard but if you say it was a kerchief I guess it was…

4-JUNIOR: Here you go, Tracy – suitable for framing.

5-DT: Exactly, Junior. Exactly… BWA HA HAAAAAAAAAA! JUNIOR: Huh?

Please tell the whole story on Kilo. Kilo died in the shoot out and the perp was found a sort time later DEAD of a gun shot wound. Thank goodness, the state didn’t have to waste funds on the zero.

Thugs and crooks have been using the facemasks from the pandemic to hide their identity. Thank goodness some businesses are not allowing hoodies and facemasks into the business.

The page hasn’t been this much good fun since Vista Bill did his Reichenbach Falls “news coverage” and later on, Rikki and Abner stories.

I still have daughter Gayle’s phone number if anyone should want to speak with her. I would first make sure it still works and get permission to give it.

This is a Big eye opener from the moment I opened today’s feature. :-)

The question is: Will Croptop be wearing a red shirt or an orange jumpsuit by the time this story is over?

This really surprised me when I first pulled it up, this morn. Well done Mr. Ettinger!

The strip shown here and the one in my paper today are entirely different. I’ve never seen two different stories on the same day. What gives??

Wait. They knocked over a bank and the police are investigating? This is hopeful. We don’t always see that.

When I saw Junior back in a Tracy strip in 1991 his hair was gray. Maybe he died it back to red.

Junior is, as they say, “old school”. He drew Croptop as the eye witness described her. Some police departments depicted in the movies and on television have sets of eyes, lips, faces, etc. Just a matter of matching profiles.

I don’t like to complain, but the colorist went too far here. The identikit is done in pencil and there was no need to color it. Left in black and white it would have made a lot more sense.

A policeman was killed in Chicago t he other day and the Police Chief really WAS wearing one of those “checkered caps” I’ve seen in the strip.

But when I see one, I still want to yell TAXI!!

Pantsy, in 1958, was one of Gould’s biggest “dud” villains. But t he treasure hunt in that story is starting to pop into my mind.
