The school needs a child-labor sweatshop where they make t-shirts that they can sell to alumni.

The word “ethics” seems to be devoid from her vocabulary.

It’s not cheating if it gets you better interest rates.

Saw a story online. Kid knows another kid keeps copying his test answers. He tricks him by writing all the wrong answers, kid copies, then he changes his answers at the last minute. Cheating kids mom blames the other kid when her son failed.

I used to try to get detention during oat harvesting time. It was itchy! Finally we stopped planting oats and bought them already made into grain. YEAH!

Her jargon-filled reply in the 2nd panel bodes well for a future in a business bureaucracy.

The roadapple doesn’t fall far from the horse’s tailpipe in many instances…

“All that really matters is results”What else does the school teaches nowadays (and social medias, enterprise communications, advertising and parents themselves) ?

I believe it was Darrell Waltrip who said, “If you ain’t cheatin’, you ain’t tryin’.”

Send her to a Catholic school, I hear the nuns actually use discipline.

One of these days, Danae may learn the difference between results and consequences.

Sounds like Danae is ready for the corporate boardroom. She does that as an adult, she doesn’t get detention, she gets rich.

Of course not and Danae makes an excellent point. “Group Work” has been a staple of education for number of years. Does little for the students and a great way for the teacher to screw off… “OK, class, let’s get into our groups” means the teacher can spend the period doing absolutely nothing. As far as the groups, one, maybe two students do the work and the rest get credit for it, too.

“All that really matters is results” that would make a great tee-shirt. Now, who would buy one of those?

If you don’t care what you to do get there, and if you don’t get there, then why should you care?

Poetic justice, Danae.

unfortunately that truth is lost on the Rich Men North of Richmond…public trough feeders retiring with 8-9 digit net worth after decades in “public” service…yeah, buddy…

I remember “Teach the Test” concept so the students would get good grades and everyone was happy. In theory it works – in real life, not so much as the students know the test but do not understand the subject matter so in the work place, they had a difficult time.

I am really amazed at how accurately Wiley Miller is depicting our screwed society through this ongoing series of cartoon strips.

Repeating my yesterday’s comment: In Woke parlance it’s known as “Equity”….

It all sounds very pragmatic and plausible until bridges start falling down, rockets blow up and automobiles over-pollute.

And it all ended up here huh! Shocker !

When I lived in Texas, there was no detention. It was the paddle and back to class!

Danae is unclear on the concept of the desired results. The desired results are not simply a good test score. No, it is a test score that shows the student has grasped and understood the material being taught. “Researching” from someone else’s paper fails to give the desired result as it shows only what the other student has learned.

The argument could be made that by coping the correct answers, information is being transferred and possibly learned in the process which is the same thing a teacher does.

To be fair, most of the warplanes the USSR built were using this same mindset. They didn’t call it copying, just “confirming designs.”

While the saying that was over the entrance to, was it Auschwitz?, is really snappy, it has the worst possible attachments and would call into question the appropriateness of even a retro-fit for a cartoon. Just sayin’….

I would think that rather than memorising what you’ve just been told, and using facilities at hand would be more beneficial. As a librarian, I found the secret was not to know the answer, but to know where to find it; it’s called ‘reference work’, not, I may add, ’research. Too many people get the two confused.

It’s the only way she’ll learn.
