Is there a study on how much learning takes place in a co-ed vs. a segregated school? I got tired of hearing girls talk about boys….till I got a boyfriend myself.
Funny. When I was in high school I couldn’t bring myself to break up with a boy – I had a friend do it for me – but had absolutely no problem helping my friend break up with hers. (Incidentally, different friends in each circumstance.)
It took 3 years as an enlisted grunt before I started taking my education seriously. Thanks to the GI bill (and a love for science fiction)… I ended up with a Masters Degree in Computer Science and a great career.
Would failure to do the academic work result in getting expelled from a public school? It is possible that one could get attired from a private school for unsatisfactory performance. However, as the government mandates everyone to go to a government-run school, it seems the public schools have to hang on to their students, no matter how badly they perform.
John, the sad part is that you are right and you don’t even know it. There is more to learning than just school. Elizabeth is also going to have to learn about life, some of which you can’t be much help with.

Anthony being predictable is not the worst thing in the world, unless you’re a teenager.

This could be a good strip:
John: It is said that the tuition for a child in public school is $40,000. That works out to $200 per day.
Elly: Indeed. Only a dingbat thinks public school is free. You hear that, Elizabeth? So tell us, what did you learn in school today?
John: Yeah, we want our $200 worth!
Elizabeth has a deer in the headlights look. All she did was waste time with her friends and think about Anthony
