“Quiet” you say?

We aren’t getting the family puzzle time arc after all….

Well Nancy, YOU were the one who invited Bernice in.

And you know the old saying: “NO good deed goes unpunished.” ;-)

I often feel the same way when I am on a very busy and active vacation.

So the mid-week misdirection twist is that Nancy needs a break from Bernice? I hate to be critical of the strip or the authors (People keep calling me a troll) but between the week of Leslie trying to fix the toilet and this week the strip has really hit barren ground.

I still have no idea what direction they’re going for.

Bernice is so awkward!

Bernice needs a break from her reality?

Yes – No matter how right you are – you can still be wrong.

I’m actually feeling more annoyed with Nancy who bottles everything up and cannot muster the courage to say what she thinks.

I like doing games and puzzles on my phone—when they’re not plagued by d@mned ads all the time!

So—is it time for the DeGroot family to tell Bernice it’s time for her to move out of their house??

Does Bernice ever stop lecturing? If she does become a therapist, her patients won’t be able to get a word in edgewise. Not that Bernice would listen to them anyway.

I keep wondering what would have happened if Luann and Bern would have stayed under that tree just a few more minutes when they were going through their “romance novel” experiment. The guys coming up to the tree as they were leaving might have proved to be fascinating.

Noise? What noise?

And mentally composing an eviction notice

I wish Nancy would just say:

Bernice, if you don’t mind, I really just need some alone time right now. Being a future therapist, I am sure you understand. I appreciate your concern, insight, and friendship… But at this time I would just like to complete my puzzle in solitude.

What is wrong with that?

Doing a puzzle also stimulates DOPE production, otherwise known as “Bernice”.

Bernice broke Nancy’s eardrums. Wonder if Bern even noticed Nancy slipping away?

Nancy works at a restaurant, she has to deal with pushy people all the time. Why doesn’t she just tell Bernice that she appreciates the help but just really wants some quiet time alone? Surprised to see Nancy being such a doormat here.

Nancy, when you got up you should have accidentally knocked the table over.

Shut UP, Bernice. Being a psychologist is 95% listening, you might take this opportunity to get in some practice.

Bernice ruined the moment

Hey Bernice, ever read the study that successful therapists possess the “shut UP gene”?

And so it was that she was bestowed with the moniker Bernice ‘Buzz Kill’ Halpern.

Burnoose looks like Cougar Nancy’s mother.

Bernice read the room but unfortunately for Nancy the room said to her, “keep talking”

Chop Chop Nancy! Luann wants to know why you’re loafing around and not washing, folding and hanging (correctly) her clothes. Isn’t it about time for dinner? You better get started on that too!

Funny she mentions “noisy distractions” ha

This arc is a great narrative on how self-centered people are and completely unaware of what’s going on around them. I’m sure we all see it everyday…!

Nancy, you should be used to know-it-all Bernice by now!

How sad. Bernice totaly excluded Nancy from her jigsaw and she’s too polite to say her anything. This is the first time Nancy looks exhausted by Bernice’s presence, until now she seemed pretty happy to having her around. Let’s hope Luann understands what’s going and says something to her BFF. Bernice must be stopped!

Thought LuAnn might join it and Nacy would quietly get up and go have a cup of coffee in the kitchen.

This strip has been around since bar soap was invented…and pretty much the >entire< time, Bernice’s part in every story arc has been the gratingly unfunny/endlessly irritating nerve-bag. It’s a good thing that burying her lifeless body in a basement wouldn’t fit into the theme of the strip…SOMEone woulda done it by now. As of today’s strip, it’s Nancy’s turn.

Nancy is still on the pink couch, so I guess that means Bernice finally left.

Sorry to overtax you with intelligent conversation, Nance. Go find Frank and you guys can talk about backaches.

Bernice is sure having a field day with that puzzle.

Studies show that most studies aren’t replicable and so aren’t worth the paper and ink used to publish them.

Clueless! She is the noisy distraction. Wonder why Luann didn’t see and ask why Bernice was doing the puzzle.

Bernice is part of a progression, from beginner to technocrat to master. The beginner knows nothing but has the desire for the field, the technocrat gets lost in the technical details of the field and has forgotten that the reason the field exists is to help people. The transition from technocrat to master depends on being able to make the transition to a knowledgeable, sympathetic advisor to the people she is treating. That transition is often painful to the practitioner, but it is essential to move into the realm of mastery in your field.

Your raison d’être is to help people with their life, messy, chaotic, at times stupid, confused, people who are trying the best they know how to make sense of their life. They are looking to you to help them, some will not take your advice, and you have to be OK with that. BUT when someone who you have helped and sent on their way, comes back to thank you for helping them turn their life around, it makes it all worth while. NOW you understand the privilege you have been granted to help people.

Oh goody, the witless wonder is back.

Bernice is consistently pitifully annoying. I could do quite well with out her.

The completed jigsaw will be a picture of Delta’s face—so she can come back without coming back

Sort of like the kind of vacation where you come home and feel like you need a vacation.

I take back all my criticisms if Nancy finally decides she’s had enough and tells Bernice to find a new place to live.

Well that was fun, now what ??? ;-)

That’s how I usually feel post “vacation”

Bernice, as a future conselor,you need to learn that in many situations “silence is golden.” Also,“too many cooks ruin the broth.”In other words shut up, and, backaway frm the puzzle.

I would suggest Bernice go soak her head in the fish tank…if Monstro was a piranha

In 5 minutes Nancy moves out to th car and reads a good book

Yea … I get the point … Too bad Bernice missed it … ;)

Only Bernice could suck the joy out of jigsaw puzzles. We know it’s an enjoyable activity without having to know.
