Luann’s not wrong. What’s the point in even making New Year’s Resolutions when almost everyone breaks them or never sticks to them?

Apparently, Bernice has always been a jerk.

It’s very simple. Make a resolution to not make any resolutions. Sounds trite but it gets it off your plate. Accept who you are. Good job!

Keep in mind that the New Year could also be your last year, so get off the pot.

Question… Why is it that the two of them are always in Luann’s room? Why don’t they ever hang out at Bernice‘s house?

Interesting time capsule. Anyone else notice the Sting and Boyz II Men posters? That makes this comic what.. about 35 years old?

I’ve never made a NY’s resolution. If something needs fixing or an opportunity for improvement occurs, I do it.

I have to admit, given how consistent Luann has been in coming up with New Year’s resolutions every year with the same result, I can understand why Bernice told her what she told her last year. That doesn’t change the fact that she could have told her in a better way. How will it go this year?

Accept how I am and enjoy the life I have…sounds like a pretty good resolution to me.

Potentionally worldly true. My daughters bedroom – my adult daughter, with two kids & a husband, house.

I never make resolutions anyways. Too hard.

Considering we’ve seen resolution based strips since then, it means Luann couldn’t even keep her resolution to not make any more resolutions. Has there ever been one that’s been successful? For her the character, or even for us as readers? Anyone here ever successfully kept a resolution? I certainly doubt that I have.

When is the normal artwork returning?

Has Bernice ALWAYS sat on the floor? You would have thought by now that somebody would have drawn her a chair or a cushion by now…

Perfection may be impossible, but the struggle is still worth the effort. And if you rest on your laurels, you won’t maintain what you have now.

I don’t need resolutions because I’m flawless. I’ve never made a mistake. Oh wait, there was that one time in my 30’s when I actually said, “Well, nobody’s perfect.”

Of all the resolutions that people make, I’ve never heard of a resolution to just be happy.

We never see your bedroom, Bernice. The one at your parents, or, the one at the DeGroots must be spotless, because you never seem to spend anytime there.

That’s because “being” happy is a passive state. Resolutions involve DOING things to achieve a goal, which then ensures BEING.

I forgot how bad the drawing use to be

Reminded of Dolly Parton saying, “You have no idea how expensive it is to look this cheap.” My beloved Luann has perfected “messy.”

This week Greg substitutes for Greg.

If I could have a wish, it would be for Greg to produce a 3 panel cartoon, in which one of the panels would be hand drawn, like the ones this week, and the other two panels would be done as they are done now. Let’s see if Greg still has his fast ball.

My New Year’s resolution is to clean up the clutter in my car and my apartment. Yesterday, I removed all of the expired car registration papers and old car insurance cards from the glove box. Today, I organize the trunk. S.T.A.R. Specific, Time schedule, AchIevable, and Reasonable.
