Very creative way to “break up” This should prove that Les can be a good sport.

For those interested in seeing a similar quandary, look at today’s “9 Chickweed Lane.” Gerald is gay, and Ginger knows it, but wants her fantasy of him wanting her to last one more day.

Well, be thankful, Les, that it was Ice Tea and not Hot COFFEE.

Something that I sorely MISS right about Now…..

Generally it’s not advisable to make a scene at work in front of your boss. If nothing else, I would expect Mr. Gray to be furious with Pru for throwing a drink at a co-worker.

I like that sound effect. “BGLOOSH” . Any guesses on how that is pronounced?

And, two seconds before, he was just thinking how thirsty he was….

This unexpected twist causes a quandary. Many thought Pru had told virtually everyone she was gay, but personally I didn’t think she had. This pretty well proves that she has not.

But in the future, if she tells others at the Fuse that she is gay, that would undo the ruse they’ve used to let Les save face, and would therefore serve to embarrass him at that time (unless he’s safely away in the slammer by then).

I did not think that Pru would ever do anything to imply to others that she might be other than gay, but now she has.

This tangled mess could go any which way: (1) Pru could get fired; (2) Les has to fess everything to save Pru; (3) Ma Berger buys everybody a piece of pie…

Not a great career move, Pru! But I did appreciate seeing the inner actor’s dialogue. And congrats to Don Draper who was the first to call this move yesterday!

Soooo, the ice cubes are not glued to the bottom.

Now, break down while moaning about who is going to help take care of the baby. That should raise a few eyebrows…

“The best laid plans of mice and lesbian actresses go oft astray……..” This is not going to go well for the impulsive, over dramatic Pru. Leslie may have to rescue her and her job.

It’s a good thing there isn’t a pool or a Koi Pond in the middle of the Kafe…. she might have went with the “classic shove”!

Again, the rule about not introducing an element into a story unless it will be employed within the story. Good thing it was a glass of tea that lingered day after day, provoking varied comments, and not, say, a stainless steel skewer of kebabs.

I think some people may have nailed it spot-on, that Pru will get called on the carpet, and that Les will then ’fess up to lying about dating her, and agreeing to the breakup scene.

But if this does happen… will Les blurt out something to the effect that he was stupid and did not know she is a Lesbian? Depending on who did not already know, that could have a ripple effect for quite some time.

I hope Pru doesn’t get fired over this. Ordinarily that would probably happen, But Mr Gray also knows Les and might think that Les did something to Warrant Pru’s reaction. However ,He might fire Pru and Les would have to confess to save her job as kenhence suggested. Mr. Gray knows that Pru is a good employee and an honest worker and he knows Les’s history, so she might get off with a write up and a warning.

Or they could extend this to tomorrow and make it part of an elaborate " April Fool’s day " prank. Naah.

Mrs. Berger: “HEY! I’ve been waiting for that tea for over a week!”

Um, maybe a bit too much on the dramatics.

Bad idea in every way. This will only draw more attention to the Les/Pru situation. And make Mr. Gray angry. And now Pru will have to tell people that she is Bi, not gay. She will have to lie, even though she criticized Les for doing so a few days ago.

I think Pru pulled a Dee Dee(from Nate)! A little too much.

I don’t believe that Mr. Gray has the authority to fire Pru. That decision would have to come from Frank, Nancy & TJ. Mr. Gray could make that recommendation to them. I’m sure that Pru has already come up with a reasonable explanation for her action.

This will turn out badly for Pru and she will be shown to be a liar. Either she lied about being gay since she dated Les, or she lied about dating Les. This will just make her look bad and it shows very poor judgment. I still like Pru, but wish she was not portrayed this way.

I predict Prudence will suffer no negative outcome from this event. Period.

Too bad it wasn’t hot coffee and not iced tea! What he deserves

While channeling Catherine Zeta-Jones, she begins to sing in her mind:

Prudence is a good friend to BGLOOSH him down like that. (I’d’ve gone for just a sploosh, but she went whole BGL for him.)

Yeah, real smart move, Pru. Poor Mrs. Berger has waited so long for that iced tea. Willing to bet that Les will really get p***ed off she did that. Then the truth will come out.

Whatever the outcome, considering that it is Les, the drink in the face is so right in so many ways.

And get the both of you fired! Great plan!

This really makes no sense. When did anyone but Les think they were a couple? Well, Miss Berger, but she’s already been corrected.

News flash: ice cubes float

I have a different take on this. I think Mrs. Berger and Mr. Gray will try to get Les and Pru back together. I am probably wrong but I don’t think anyone will be fired. We’ll see what happens.

At least the ice is no longer at the bottom of the glass … It’s on Les, and the floor.

I’m getting the feeling that the entire Leslie at the KK arc wasn’t fully sketched out when it first showed up in print and that they weren’t sure how it was going to conclude. (Of course I could be wrong.) This section doesn’t make a lot of sense to me – it’s too illogical, as if it were put together at the spur of the moment. OTOH pouring a drink over someone in a restaurant is a time honored gag that I’m daresay many comic readers enjoy for its own sake.

I love this strip but this story arc really seems to be dragging out. What about Tony and Brad? What about Bernice and Pyro? Will we ever see Quill again?

For me, I fear this will get Pru initially fired. Then after an awareness on conscience, Les will show further growth and confess about why Pru really did this. However, I do not think it will be a quick confession, and may be a month or two’s worth of comics ( and advancement of other arcs) before we revisit this and get his confession.

Your attention please: I want to inform you that my cousin Josh Lyons is returning this coming Sunday, not the Monday after Easter. The reason why he’s coming back here is to avoid that Spring Break crowd down there in Florida! As I’m writing this, he’s packing now and is about to flee from there! He’ll be back here Sunday morning to re-take his posting duties. As for me, it’s back to doing cartoons, working, and playing computer and video games. I hope you enjoy my visit here all this week. Now back to “Luann”.

What I especially liked was that her audience could see them talking, tell something was going on, see her turn away, see her lost in thought, see her come to a conclusion, turn and respond to the unknown conversation. It was as if she had been hurt so badly that she was first stupefied and then lashed out.

The fact that she did it out of kindness doesn’t change how well she presented herself.

I don’t think this acting scene was necessary, but Pru and Les are consenting adults. I think Pru’s lesbianism will certainly become widely known, which will have the unintended consequence of making Les seem pathetic.

Pru is not going to get fired. I see no motivation for the Evanses to go in that direction.

BTW, better a BGLOOSH than a big douche.

One real sick cartoon people who comment are not far behind

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Very good and classic too. Nuff said.

I hope that the lady with no first name and Mr. Gray are the only customers around to witness this. And, Pru, darlin’, get back to Broadway, you’re wasting your time in this strip. Heck, most of the actors there are waiting on tables, too, but at least they can go on auditions. Finally.. Tiffany, Gunther: baseball season is starting, let’s see if you two can get past 1st base this year.

Pru is showing that she is a true friend, jeopardizing her image (and status as an employee) at the Fuse for Les’s sake, to get him off the hook for saying she was his girlfriend. Most persons would not go that far.

Well! That’s certainly dramatic, Pru.

But how will Dark Leslie react? And what will Ma Berger (someday, her tea will come—sung to a Disney tune) and Mr. Gray think of you now?

Good move, Pru. Who cares what Ma Berger and Mr Gray think?
