This strip has just gotten too mean spirited with the daughter doing the writing. All the characters do is make nasty jabs and comments towards each other.Way too negative almost every time.
Geez, Nancy – the least you could do is give Frank a few pieces of double – sided tape to stick on his head to keep his cap from sliding around. Fortunately, at 64, I still have most all of my hair and all 32 teeth.
I still have all 3 of my yearbooks from high school. I was just thinking yesterday that I should maybe give them up, as my offspring sure won’t want them. Anyone give them up and regret it? I don’t ever go back and look at them. Maybe one look and toss?
I still have 2 graduation gowns from when my kids graduated. What are we supposed to do with them? Of course they could not both wear the same gown 5 years apart, the school’s rules.
Academic garb for graduation is rented, not bought. After the ceremony you have to put the gown and mortarboard back in the box for collection by the faculty or whoever. So Frank wouldn’t still have his old mortarboard, and GK should have come up with a more plausible gag.
Did Frank go to college? I don’t think he would have been that attached to his H.S. mortarboard if he had. (Also, as people here have mentioned, caps and gowns are usually rentals.)

All I have is a group class photo, and my diploma. Couldn’t afford a class ring, or the yearbook.

They made us give the gown and hat back. The fee we paid was a rental. We could keep any ribbons or tassels, of course.

I rented my caps—all 3 of them. Graduated from high school 56 years ago, from college 52 years ago and from medical school 46 years ago.

You ain’t seen nothing yet Frank.
Just wait until you find out that Nancy sold your “Icky old” left handed Fender Stratocaster that was once owned by Jimi Hendrix, to this “Ed” guy.
And sold it for five bucks. ;-)

Given how much the US has fallen into a sinkhole this past decade, I’d worry more about the loss of youthful optimism than the loss of my hair…

Wow. Rude and uncalled for remark from Nancy, even if it is Frank. There are sure a lot of bad vibes in this comic strip lately.
