Pyroclastic flows certainly put people out of their misery faster than climate change, or impeachment.

Once again, Herculaneum gets overlooked in the press. (They had the same problem in Gomorrah.)

POTUS hair color is totally natural. Absolutely, 100%. He just uses “freedom chemicals” to unleash the natural color of his hair.

All the talk with nothing done is what brings about explosions – of pure, incendiary frustration. More devastating in the voting booth than a volcano, with more fallout.

There’s a little town in Michigan named Pompeii. The locals pronounce it Pom pee eye.

Gee, both last month’s Smithsonian and Archaeology magazines had cover stories about the latest excavations at Pompeii. Wiley must read those, too. . .

Pliny the elder was the roman admiral in the region when it went up. A noted naturalist he was caught in his desire to observe the phenomenon and do his duty. he did both, recognizing Pompey was lost he sent rescue ships to Herculaneum that got mud rather than the cloud and saved people there but he died from his desire to get closer to the event himself.

There are always some numbskulls that will think that a logical conclusion is a self fulfilling prophecy if it does not tell them what they want to hear. Why do they usually end up in Management?

If you build in a flood plain, one day you will be flooded. If you build anywhere on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, one day you will be slammed by a major hurricane. If you build on or near an unstable geological fault line, one day you will endure an earthquake. That’s “will,” not “might.” Yet homes are built on flood plains, the Gulf coast, and on unstable fault lines – and people buy them knowing they are on flood plains, the Gulf coast, or on unstable fault lines. Then they call themselves “victims” when the inevitable happens. Never underestimate the power of nature. And never, ever, underestimate the power of human stupidity.

Here in Switzerland the climate change is obvious : 5 Winters surtout snow, they had to bring water to the cows in the mountain by military helicopters last year, rivers and streams drying, trouts cannot live in hot water. This year forests started dyeing. We will toast without the help of volcanos.
