It was a lot easier to keep track before the lockdown, too.

I can tell when it’s Sunday, because comic strips get bigger.

Friday the thirteenth this month was on Monday.

I can tell you what the date is but I’m not always sure of the day of the week.

Sometimes I actually have to consult my phone to remember what day it is.

I ask Siri ‘who am I and where am I?’ She’s good but she doesn’t seem too concerned. I may need a software upgrade or perhaps a new app.

It might have been a Ruby Tuesday or a Sheffield Wednesday! Only the Shadow knows!

My mother-in-law is no longer sure of the day. Small strokes can make big differences.

I feel the same way at times.

Don’t date with dates

Earl you are making the rest of us retired folks look bad ! I bet you know what day is payday ;-)

I’ll bet Opal doesn’t have that problem (yet!)…

I wonder if Earl was always scatterbrained.

It’s strange – I’ve been retired now for more than a decade but I still feel the “Thank God it’s Friday” feeling. I think because I allow myself not to work out on the weekends and just be lazy. I also don’t go shopping or to the beach or do anything the masses normally do on weekends. I stay home. Of course NOW I am staying home EVERY DAY and a trip to the grocery store is the highlight of the week. But I guess it’s the same for everyone.

Substitute “working from home,” and that’s my life

I generally don’t have a problem with the day of the week, but since my wife went to a four-day work week, she gets confused occasionally.

Time slips by me too! Retirement does that to you!

Or the year.

I have never hated mondays, But I have always dreaded wednesday. It just seems like the longest day of the week.

Substitute “Retired” for “CoVid-19 Social Distancing” in the strip and it makes perfect sense now!

When you retire, every day is the same as every other day. You take it one day at a time and relish the freedom you have to do what you want to do. Who cares if it is Monday or Friday…unless you have an appointment on Monday or Friday.

I expect close to 300 upvotes on this one before the day is over!

Remember everyday is Saturday when you retire.

In retirement, the days of the week, Monday, Tuesday, etc., will be known as “Day”.

To quote the Dowager Countess of Grantham, “What is this week end?”

When my wife was working, and when my grandkids were living downstairs from us, I knew when it was TGIF. Being retired, it didn’t matter much to me but to them …

There is no such thing as time. Only events.

Back I’m December, with our weekly card group, a couple of the others were discussing holidays off. I turned to my wife and said, “oh yeah, we get an extra day off next year! 366 days instead of 365!”I may have irritated a person or two with that remark!I do love retirement!

One day runs into another. My wife keeps asking me what day it is. I go to my pill box to find out. Then I try to remember if I took my pills yet.

I just assume it’s Friday until shown differently

Sundays and Wednesdays for church (online these days), Monday, Thursday and Saturday for trash, so the only days I get mixed up are Tuesday and Friday.

This morning, trying to awaken, I was sure it was Sunday. Again my subconscious rushing for Flattening The Curve.

Uh, what year is it?

This could be me talking. Especially since the stay-at-home, so we can’t go to church on Sundays.

retirement is hard: no days off, no holidays, no vacation days, no sick days, no break times, etc, etc.

“I Don’t Like Mondays” was a great song performed by the Boomtown Rats and written by Bob Geldof in 1979. It went to #1 on many charts throughout the world. That was back when popular music was good.

I can relate, and I’m still at work. Looks like retirement is a lot like being quarantined.

I was forced into retirement, December 2016. And since then, most of the time I don’t know what day it is. Now I have reminders on my iPad, to left me know.
