Most parks around here have bag dispensers. It’s cheaper than hiring staff to clean up. A partly-full bag is still usable, too, especially for that little pooch.
Why do we say “borrow” in those situations? Obviously, we’re not giving it back! And, yes, I have little containers of bag rolls on each leash, and some in random pockets of jackets.
I was walking my Jack Russel Terrier and approach someone with a Lab taking a big dump, looked like the size of a big turkey neck, and picking it up with a bag. I joking said, boy am i lucky, she, the JRT poops small tootsie rolls.
I’m always mystified by the dog walkers who pick up and bag the poop then leave the bags by the side of the trail or wherever, sometimes near a signpost or something. Do they think there is a poop fairy who comes along to collect the bags? Picking up is the annoying part; throwing it away in a garbage can is easy.
Sure it could be a walker planning to pick it up on the return leg, and maybe forgot. But I’ve seen it too often for that, in various types of walking areas, in several different parts of the country.
My gal is a veterinarian and we save all the little and big bags that we collect from deliveries, the store, bread bags, etc. Always have more than enough without resorting to buying more plastic.
If an alien saw dogs leading people on leashes and picking the dogs excrement, wouldn’t they be confused about who was in charge, the dogs or the people?
This is like a joke from a Cheech and Chong movie. A girl asks if they have any blow. Cheech (as Cheech’s cousin “Red”) asks what she means. She says “you know….” and does a sniff sniff gesture with her hand across her nose to indicate cocaine. “Red” says “oh yeah, here…. use my sleeve”
It took me a moment to get this one — I was trying to figure out why he’d hand the guy a bag that wasn’t empty (full disclosure: I don’t own a dog). Then I got it and laughed out loud.
And I don’t see why they guy is so upset that the bag’s already been used. Earl just gave him a head start!
I’m not a dog owner (but am a dog lover). Just the other day, I saw a fellow pick up his dog’s droppings using a disposable glove then turned it inside out to contain said waste as a bag. Neat idea.

Be careful what you ask for.

If this had been in a restaurant I think a doggie bag’s contents would have been just fine. But, um, no, not in this case.

I give the guy credit for wanting to clean up after his dog.

I’m sure yours won’t mind sharing. And what did you mean by “borrowing” did you intend to hand it back afterwards?

I have a roll of doggie poop bags attached to the leash. If anyone needs one I have enough.
david_42 about 2 years ago
We have a roll of bags strapped to each leash, but use a scoop 95% of the time.

This is the kind of doggie bag you can expect to take home from the restaurant if you don’t tip the waitress.
jski14 about 2 years ago
When you consider what he wants to put in the bag, what difference does it make that there’s already some of the same stuff inside it?

I carry a whole roll. Besides, if it’s not tied it can be used more than once. The idiot should thank Earl.
