I use cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. The bread must be fresh. When they are in season, fresh cucumbers from the garden is delicious with the sandwich too.
my family watches cooking stuff on YouTube and tv while eating something simple too. Donât be embarrassed. maybe theyâll take pity on us one day and share what theyâre making on the screen. :]
Hey, I grew up on bologna and KD. We had it 2 or 3 times a week. We knew dad just got paid when we had hotdogs for supper. That was living âhigh on the hogâ. Still, I would not have changed a thing about it if I could. I STILL love fried bologna. In Canada we called it âNewfoundland Round Steakâ. Buy it by the foot long roll. But it had to be Maple Leaf brand.
Donât be embarrassed Gladys. Thereâs a dive in Waldo, OH called G & R Tavern thatâs famous (they claim âworld famousâ) for their amazing fried bologna sandwich. People come from far and wide just for that.
I ate bologna and American cheese sandwiches almost daily from ages 9-16. I brought it for lunch every single day. I canât recall the last time I had it. BTW, Hebrew National made a âbeef bolognaâ because it had to be kosher. I ate that brand in my teens.
If they ate their every meal the way they show them on television, there wouldnât be tv screens wide enough to display their girth. They eat very simple fare much of the time themselves. Actually, a well made bologna sandwich is a very underrated sandwich. Itâs what I, and a lot of others grew up onâŠâŠ.
Swap the bologna for mortadella, add Provolone, mayo (I prefer Kewpie) and Dijon or honey mustard all on Kaiser roll. Fry the Mortadella first then stack it thick.
Mom used to like to watch âThe Galloping Gourmetâ. Graham Kerr would use and drink a lot of wine while he cooked, and Mom would drink wine with him.

Just as Esquire Magazine once stated that there is no shame in a cheese sandwich, I would also extend that sentiment to include bologna.

Iâll bet even the celebrity chefs like to sit down and relax with a bologna sandwich every now and then. Itâs a simple pleasure.

Iâve noticed that the commercials on cooking shows tend to be for convenience foods.
